Items freezing on the refrigerator side

We had problems with items freezing on the refrigerator side , it was finally diagnosed that a fan was missing from the panel on the refrigerator side that was not letting air circulation.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Side by Side Love

Had top of the line GE fridges for the past 25 years(about 12 years per fridge), got irritated because they always freeze my food in the back of the fridge. Tried a French door fridge of another company, it was a 3 month nightmare... went back to the side by side with GE, did not know how well we had it. This is not top of the line, but based on research and the appliance repairman, it is said to perform better than the top of the line. Light weight doors, sturdy shelves and attractive exterior design that matches my other appliances. Wish it were a little more upscale inside, back of fridge is a bit like a freezer, about 5 degrees cooler than the rest, one of the fans is a bit noisy and cycles on and off, and the front stainless dents incredibly easy. However, knowing all of the other choices, I'd still pick it as strange as that sounds. A consistently irregular fridge is better than one that simply breaks down all the time or is predicted to only last 6-8 years.

I purchased this refrigerator in 4 months ago and it is very big and fits all of my groceries with three kids I buy a lot of food. The only downside is the ice maker is a bit noisy and it has been replaced already one as well as the freezer seal.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Slow making ice. Ice crystals on food in fridge if close to back or freezer side even though temp is at recommended level. Water filter starts losing performance within one to one and a half months.

Great fridge overall

I bought this about 3 months ago. I'm pretty happy with everything about it- features, good icemaker, humidity control, lighting, etc. The only minor thing is a rattling sound that it sometimes makes. It sounds like the compressor. I read a lot of reviews before buying this and others said the same thing. It isn't real loud, and it's the only minor complaint I have.

After searching for weeks, I finally selected this refrigerator. The problem was, I was comparing my 23 year old GE refrigeratior to these new ones and they just don’t compare. This one states it has 2 cf more, but the way the shelves are placed, it holds less food in the freezer and refrigerator section. The ice maker holds more ice but the mechanism is made of plastic instead of metal like my old one. I do like how easy it is to change the filter. I like the alarm; how it comes on if you leave either door open too long. The most striking thing is the LED lights in the refrigerator section. They are bright. There are also LED lights in the dispenser area. If they go out, you have to call for service! I was excited with the refigerator when I first got it but as time went on, I see many faults. GE needs to step it up and make quality appliances like before. To much cheap plastic parts that look like they will break over time.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The water and ice display is way too hard to read. The lettering is light grey on a grey background. Plus the water dispenser is hard to use without dripping water down the front of the door and the ice dispenser shots out small chips of ice, a rug is necessary in front.
