Nice unit. Fits our kitchen has good ice maker with reasonable ice storage. Two areas for improvement. 1 soft stop when opening doors. 2 longer timeout on door open alarm.

Only 3 1/2 years old and it died. Family of 6 with no fridge now. Can’t even get anyone out for a repair for up to a week. I previously owned other appliances in my old house and had them 10+ years with no issues. Very very disappointed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This refrigerator is terrible and cheaply made! Freezer door is not lined up with refrigerator door, Shelfing.is cheap, drawers are cheap. While pulling out draws the handles cracked. I have already purchased replacement parts and I am trying to order more replacement parts. Purchased during Covid took 6 months to get and I was very disappointed with the quality.

Design Flaws

We had a service call - none of these issues can be fixed. Read the service manual before making a purchase.
1.) “Tall Ice & Water Dispensing Center makes it easy to fill most shapes and sizes of containers.” But not easy for water glasses or cups/mugs. Water squirts at an angle beyond door on to the floor. Two hands are required to dispense water. There are 3 drips afterwards you must wait for. This can be challenging for kids. The GE auto-fill would have been a nice feature. I miss having separate water and ice dispensers.
2.) “The new high efficiency compressor may run faster and longer than your old refrigerator and you may hear a high-pitched hum or pulsating sound while it is operating.“ Yes. Annoying.
3.) “Up-front temperature controls make temperature management easy by placing the interior controls at the front of the refrigerator” Regardless of the ‘temp set’ you enter, the ‘actual’ is different and can vary several (4) degrees. Our water dispense is not very cold. Note: maintain airflow near sensors positioned on refrigerator interior left side wall.
4.) Display panel is not backlit and hard to see at night. You must press a button to view information. I'd rather not have this energy saving feature..
I do like: 28cuft allows for the interior shelving so you’re still getting a 25-26cuft. The materials are more substantial than what I’ve seen at this price point. Freezer - 10 lb ice maker, easy access, quick ice feature. 3 door bins and 3 pull out drawers to organize vs. shelving. Refrigerator – Versatile adjustment options for shelving and door bins. Storage drawers and door bins are generous. Lighting is nice, but would like a few more in the back.like the freezer.

Annoying Quirks

At 28.4 cubic feet this side by side refrigerator is extra large capacity. It is the largest that I could find and this was important to me as I did not want to have two refrigerator/freezers in the house. With the side by side everything is in plain sight in the refrigerator and the freezer and easy to see with the led lighting. The ice maker is large, a big plus for us as we've don’t run out of ice anymore. All though there is problem with the ice maker. I have never had a refrigerator with an icemaker of this idiotic design. Instead of the metal arm that raises and lowers to sense the amount of ice when the ice maker drops a new batch of ice. This ice maker has a paddle that retracts and then pushes forward to sense the amount of ice when the ice maker drops a new batch of ice. The problem, the paddle pushes the ice cubes into the freezer and they cascade down through the freezer and sound like a pinball machine at all hours of the day or night. Some ice cubes stop on various shelves others go to the bottom of the freezer. You never know when you will have some cubes ejecting on to your floor when removing an item from the freezer. So pleasant. About once a month you take the bottom freezer drawer out and collect the ice cubes that have made it to the bottom of the freezer. I did shut the ice maker off at night so as not to be awakened by the pinball machine sound, this did not work so well as the ice maker needs the night hours to continue producing ice to recover from the days ice consumption. Also I did not want to continue turning the ice maker switch off then on as it was getting loose, not sure why, it is a thin little plastic slide switch. I have been told the ice maker is working correctly. I guess it is the poor design that created a pinball ice maker and poor quality control that allowed the refrigerator to ship with a broken shelf. The quality is also poor, the first refrigerator was dead on arrival with only a flickering control panel. The replacement had a broken shelf and dents, between being cheaply made, poor quality control and poor design this is not an outstanding product
