I have had my refrigerator only a couple days. I bought only because the other GE was 20 years old and wanted to update. An egg holder and liter bottle holder that came with old refrigerator did not come with the new one. Can you send me an egg holder that will fit this refrigerator as the old one is too big? I love the LED lighting throughout. What the heck is a "sealed pan"? Cannot find anything about it in the manual. To adjust the shelving, the tab that must be pressed to get the shelf out is extremely hard to depress. An older person with arthritis will never get the tab depressed to adjust the shelving. It should not be that hard to depress a tab. Love that you can place the gallon of milk on the shelf of the door. Over to the freezer. The second shelf which pulls out is flat. It has no back or sides. When the shelf is pulled out the stuff falls down the backside. Get a 4 rating because of some of the drawbacks described above.

Terrific Refrigerator

Although my new GE Profile refrigerator was only installed a week ago, I really love it. I am very happy I went with the better model because the lighting inside is fabulous.
Only one thing I am not thrilled with is the tray that catches the filtered water is very shallow and you have to be very careful that water doesn't splash or run over. Otherwise this is a terrific appliance. I had my other GE Profile for 15 years and it was still working except that the copper tubing to the ice/water filter came loose and I had a lot of water damage. Instead of just fixing it I decided I should just get a new and I am thrilled that I did. I always buy GE products. I believe that at the price range, GE provides the best quality.

After 16 years, I decided to update my older GE with a new model. I totally love my new Profile. It has so many neat features. Love the extra big door bins and the adjustable shelves. Sleek appearance that looks very up scale in my kitchen. It's easy to clean which is important to me. Thanks GE.

Nice Replacement for previous GE Profile

This is a great selection to replace an existing side by side GE Profile. The previous one lasted for 18 years. We especially like the bright interior lighting. Despite being advertised as the same size please be aware that these new machines are not exactly to size. We had to sand off one of the side upper cabinets to squeeze it in. It is very quiet and so far we are very pleased with our selection.

makes funny noises & water/ice dispenser is poor

Ice & water dispenser: water shoots out too far and gets water everywhere & ice comes out too slow $ when you select cubed ice it still comes out crushed and gets everywhere & I'm already sick of leaning it up off the floor.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Working well so far but had binding drawers

We have had this for a couple months now. My wife loves the freezer section. We both love the interior lighting which one of the main reasons we chose it. Two of the drawers in the refrigerator section were binding when we got it, especially the top drawer. GE replaced the shelves and drawers but the replacements were not much better. I finally spent quite a bit of time myself filing away on the drawers and slides until they no longer bind. We previously had smaller bottom freezer (non-GE) refrigerator for about 17 years. I personally liked its refrigerator section much better instead of the tall narrow spaces of a side by side but my wife really wanted the side by side for the in-door ice and water and just did not like the french door models that are more like the old bottom freezer we had. The ice maker works well and we have not had a problem with ice freezing up in the bin. Again, we chose this one because it has a large ice bin with the ice maker completely in the freezer where it is coldest instead of in the door where it is warmer. This refrigerator had a top space-maker shelf where the front half of the shelf can be pushed back under to make more vertical space at the front half. We found that very annoying even when not pushed back because the framework for storing it really cuts down the vertical space below that shelf. We replaced that shelf with a standard shelf since we saw no need for space-maker version and much prefer it that way. It runs quietly.

Great refrigerator-replacing 2 others I had

Purchased this to replace 2 old ones. Did a complete kitchen makeover and while this is a bit big-it really is a wonderful thing to use. I bought GE because my old ones were GE and had years of use-this one is a new experience.

Great Flexibilty and Capacity

Got this new refrigerator about 2 months ago and so far, I am very impressed with the flexibility (of the shelves) and the capacity. It's the same capacity as the older refrigerator it replaced (also a side-by-side), but it seems that we can get a lot more into it. The freezer section is great with the pull-out bins and the door storage is usable with no frost build up (a big problem in the old fridge). Overall, couldn't be happier.
