This is replacement for same product that was probably needing a new generator. That one was over 7 years old. I like the improved drawers that slide in and out much easier and more light. I don’t like the lack of temp readings inside that the old model had. I could see the freezer/fridge temp without pressing anything. This model is very well rated by Consumer Reports and contrary to some reviews, I find it to be very quiet when running and dropping ice cubes. Reliable as GE products have always been.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Cheapened features

New Profile refrigerator has fewer and lessor features than my old profile refrigerator. They have cheapened the product while raising the prices. We like the old one better

Terribly Loud Refrigerator and Ice Maker

Extremely loud refrigerator all the time. Ice maker sounds like it’s throwing ice instead of dropping. We have not found a good temp for refrigerator side. My sour cream and onion dip become extremely watery and loose. No lights on dispenser area. Profile line should have better features. Not happy with this purchase.

TEMPERATURES ARE OFF!

I’ve always had GE appliances in my home so, I decided to stay with this brand when my GE Profile broke. I purchased basically the same model hoping I would be happy with this one. I am totally disappointed in this model because I found that the digital temperatures on the door does not match what my refrigerator & freezer thermometers inside the refrigerator say. Even the ACTUAL temperature on the door changes when the refrigerator hadn’t been open for over 8 hours. Also, having the temperature set at the recommended 37 degrees , it wasn’t cold as it should be, especially the top shelf so, I lowered it by 2 degrees. If I had it to do over again I would not purchase a GE refrigerator .

Love the side by side but ice maker is faulty

Ice maker gets stuck and stopped making ice … only provided crushed then nothing. Went online and realigned the metal hook. Works sometimes but is extremely slow Love the side by side look and love seeing everything in my freezer.. wish the ice maker functioned!!

I've replaced my old stainless GE side by side with the exact same new model! I love it! I enjoy the new LED lighting on the inside shelves, and all the features are user friendly.

WORST REFRIGERATOR EVER! It’s so loud that I can hear it from other rooms. The sad thing is GE came out and said it was normal!! Do not buy.

I have one that is 30 years old and still performs great. I had a previous one that I sold along with me home at that time. My mom introduced it to me she was a two time owner in her lifetime. Sorry to hear it’s being discontinued. I love the adjustable aspects of the glass shelves and door bins. After holiday cooking it holds all pot and pans until I can properly store leftovers the next day. Very smart design. Good longevity.
