I understand that there are energy issues that these new models must cope with, notably the strange sounds when it is cooling.. I shopped extensively for a new refrigerator, this was the best for my purposes. However, the new side shelf supports as opposed to the old,infinitely adjustable back rack, is not an improvement nor is the freezer space allocated to the icemaker/storage bin. My old GE side by side was a treasure! But I will still stick with GE brand over all others.

Closest Refrigerator to our previous Artic profile model which we loved the features. Changed to the SS look which also looks great. Quiet running compared to earlier models. Really like the lighting inside, nice and bright.

After 24 years of RCA (one of the GE older brands) our roomy refrigerator quit and required this replacement.
Outside is darker than expected and inside is not as roomy as our older model (probably due to new insulation requirements), but overall this is very good replacement which we hope will last as long.

We’ve had this refrigerator for a year and absolutely love it. The interior design is much deeper than our previous refrig, easy to adjust shelving, love the half shelf that can be tucked under when you need space for taller bottles, door bins are deep enough to get lots of storage, milk stays correct temp when stored in the door, bright LED interior lighting lets you see all the way to the back. Door handles are spaced nice so you aren’t touching the surface and easy to clean. Love the ice maker. No more breaking up cubes because of the auger design. The baskets could be a little wider in the freezer as they have a tendency to not stay on the runners when you pull them out. Ordered black and was disappointed at first the door surface is more of a black with grey undertones. But actually blends well with other stainless steel appliances. Very quiet.

Looks real nice ,has nice room inside adjustable shelves but the plastic edge's are sharp and hurt when they hit your arm .
like the rollers on the drawers make them easier to pull open . This is to replace my old GE side by side 25 years finally die on me hope this one is that good .

Quiet and Efficient!

I’m glad I spent the extra $1000 for the Energy Star version of this refrigerator because it is very quiet and doesn’t seem to run as long to keep things cool. Plenty of storage space. I just wish the space for the water dispenser was taller to fit a sports water bottle.

Great Side by Side

Full Disclosure. This is a new purchase. Just delivered yesterday, so I have not had time to use it much yet. I'm basing my rating only on what I have experienced in limited use. I really wanted the French Door Profile Refrigerator with the pull out freezer at the bottom. But my hubby really liked this one better, as he did not like the bending required on the French Door, and he thought it would be hard to find things buried on the bottom of the freezer.... I did not think that would be a problem at all, but since he does half the cooking at our house, I deferred to him on this one. So far, though, I really like the side by side. The stainless steel is so nice compared to the plain old white one I had before, and it looks great in the kitchen space. We are very limited on the size that would actually fit in the space alloted for a refrigerator in our kitchen. I measured very carefully, before deciding on a specific model. I was a little afraid that if the stated measurements were off, even a littler, I would be in trouble. But everything was exactly as stated, and it fits perfectly in my space. I love the layout of the shelves in the refrigerator section, particularly the shelf that folds back to allow higher items to fit when needed. The refrigerator had 3 nice sized drawers to hold everythign I normally store in there, deli, fruits, veggies, etc. The Freezer side has more of a bin set-up when my previous freezer had flat shelves with only one larger bin at the bottom. This current set-up seems to work better for storing lots of bags of frozen vegetables, french fries, etc. The freezer is actually larger and holds bigger items than I expected, so am happy with it so far. I really like the LED lighting system too.

This is my FIRST refrigerator w an ice maker and already I am loving it! (even though it takes up valuable freezer space). its really GREAT! There is plenty of room in this side-by-side. I am happy w the interior. The exterior arrived w scratches from the delivery team, which I Am NOT happy about. AND I thought this was suppose to be finger proof/smuge resistant? well, its not. oh well. I like the interior shelves. Its taken a while to get the ref side shelves to stay in place, at first they kept falling out when we opened the door! (no not to much weight on side shelves) they just fell out! Seems to be OK now. I like that you can regulate the temps on the outside by the water maker digital area too!. Overall I am very happy w our purchase. now I just need to find out how to order the fillets for this water despenser! (THRILLED dont need to have a water cooler in my kitchen any longer! its THAT GOOD!!)
