After 18 months the velcro has turned to dust. The velcro never did hold the cover down,a real bad design.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've owned my grill for several years and finally needed to replace the cover. Ordered from the website> Positives: Grill cover fits perfectly. Negatives: In comparison with the 'original' cover, it is much thinner (lighter grade of vinyl) in design and construction. I hope it holds up in inclement weather.

I had a different brand on the grill that was substantially heavier in weight and texture. This one feels much lighter and feels like it will be prone to tearing easier. Time will tell.

After purchasing many knock off covers that did not last more than a season, I decided to purchase the original Weber cover. I have only had it a few months, but so far it seems to be a quality cover that can stand up to the elements. Time will tell.

So far so good. I haven't had the cover that long, so I cannot yet speak to its durability, and that's why I only went 4 stars instead of 5. Fit is good, and I saw some reviews stating the cover came off during high winds. We have had two episodes of high winds since I started using the cover, and I've had no problems at all in that regard.
