On/Off and Temp Probe Problem

Received this as a Christmas gift. First, the unit does not turn off. I powered the unit after I opened it and then went to use it two weeks later for the first time and the unit as completely dead. Had to recharge and the recharge time is pretty significant, over an hour for full charge. I read that disconnecting the probes should turn it off, also saw on a webpage that if you press for two seconds with the probes out, it turns off. I tried both many times, and the blue tooth connection is still valid, so obviously the unit is not off.
Second and more importantly, any slight movement of the probe wires and the probe disconnects. These connections are very loose, and I mean very loose. I hooked it up on my counter and simply staring at it, the temp probe reported disconnect. Maybe this unit has some issues, but for the price, these are not issues that I would expect.
I saw another review reporting the same probe issues, so I don't believe this is isolated to my unit.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Easy Grilling

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased a new Weber grill and got this to go with it. It's great to "relax" while grilling and not have to keep constant watch on the food. My husband has a tendency to under or over cook the fajitas, but with this constant reading, they're much better.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good Features, Dissapointed

The device and concept are great, and makes my Summit Grill Center a smart grill. I got this a a gift, and I also have a SmokeFire with three built in hub. The problem is that the App only allows for one Hub.... either my SmokeFire or the Connect hub. Each time I use one grill or the other, I have to forget the other device and re-pair the hub. Weber has no plan for the app to support pairing data from more than one device.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I first heard about Weber connect hub on Steve Dahl's Podcast, then a representative from Weber talked about it at great length and I was sold. I ordered 3 units, one for myself and my son and son-in-law. We couldn't be more impressed with the product. We live in the Chicago southwest suburbs and we like to grill year round and this item is a must! I also, very impressed with all of the items on your website.

Love it except one huge issue

I bought the connect about a month ago because I am not confident in grilling. I alway worry about not getting meat done to the right temp and needed help. This is everything I needed to build my confidence. Mission accomplished! I have grilled multiple steaks with multiple do requests at the same time with no stress because of this device.
The grill heat probe was an eye opener. The difference between the surface temp and the temp on the lid temp gauge was significant. The heat probe has made a huge difference for me.
The problem for me is that “turning off” the connect does not TURN OFF the connect. The battery continues to drain until it’s dead. I grilled two nights ago with it fully charged. Turned it off as Weber says and this morning it was completely dead.
I have to make sure I know we are grilling so I can pre-charge it. It can’t be a last minute decision.
If not for the battery drainage issue I would have given it 5 stars. As of now, I wish I would have ought a replaceable battery version where I could just pull the batteries to conserve. Photo is my morning charge of the device.

Great product, but Weber Connect app needs work

I have a Smokefire Grill with Weber Connect and I liked it so much, I bought this Weber Connect Hub to use with my gas grill and my Weber Performer Kettle grill. However, the Smart Connect App only allows you to have 1 device. When I switch products I need to go into the app and "forget" the current device (Hub or Smokefire) and then connect to the other. It would be significantly better app if I could pair more than 1 device and then when using the app, have the choice to select which device I am using (HUb or Smokefire) and then use the app with that product. App functionality should be the same as headphones where iPhone allows me to connect to either my Airpods or my Bose, where I can only connect to 1 device at a time, but the devices are on my available device list. I am looking at adding the new Genesis grill and replacing my BBQ Galore gas grill, but when looking at the Genesis with or without Weber connect, I am leaning to buy the one without otherwise I would have a 3rd device that I would need to forget in the app - not great functionality. I would only recommend this product to a friend that has only 1 product.

Not worth the price point. Mini works better

Wanted to upgrade from my iGrill mini. Overall not very satisfied given the price point. UI not very intuitive (and different app from iGrill for some reason). Won't charge all the way to 100 (gets stuck at 95 no matter how long left on charger). Won't notify my device when done, or give a warning when temp is close. No watch app (even though the cheaper version has one?!). Stick to the cheap mini it works just fine.

Worked as advertised

I set it up as per instructions. Had zero issues . Used it with blue tooth, about 20 ft. Had better range with WiFi. Glad I didn't go by the negative reviews. I grill on my kettle grill 3 times a week and on my pellet grill ever other week.
I would recommend this to a friend!
