Great product

Purchased this model to replace the igrill model from Weber. This one is way more advanced and tech smart. What I really like is it has wifi capabilities that allow me to monitor food temps from anywhere. The initial setup was alittle aggravating trying to connect to my smart phone but I believe that was due to the required update on the initial power up. I do think the price point is a little high with only one meat probe. but if you are looking for precision in your cook times this is the device for you regardless of having to make additional purchases.
With this device so far I have perfected whole chickens, ribs, Boston butts and a few briskets all on a electric smoker.
If your looking for precision temperature monitoring for your smoker this is the device for you.

Ambient or Grill Temperature Readings Inconsistent
on July 18, 2021

I am using the Connect Smart Hub with my Weber Summit 670 grill. I placed the ambient probe in the indirect cooking area. The built-in temperature gauge on the Summit grill registered at 550 degrees while the ambient probe registered around 375 degrees. I was looking to grill at 450 degrees. This HUGE inconsistency made it impossible to determine the temperature inside the grill. I don't know if the Weber built-in gauge is faulty or if the Weber Connect ambient probe is faulty.
Also, with the meat probe, I always need to reposition the probe AFTER receiving the "done" temperature alert. I am inserting the probe into the correct location on the various cuts of meat. When I reposition it, the temperature read is consistently lower and the food is not done. I then wait until it reaches the target temperature alert once again. The end result is doneness of the meat is usually great after the 2nd reading.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for your comments. We appreciate you taking the time to provide your feedback. Regarding the difference between the built-in temperature gauge and the ambient probe, it is most likely that both are correct but just measuring differently due to their varying proximity from the lid and grates.
When using the meat probe, it is important that the tip of the probe be positioned in the thickest area of the meat for the most accurate reading of doneness. Also, the built-in grill guide may have you remove the food before it has reached "doneness" because it is compensating for the rise in temperature as the meat rests. We hope that makes sense! If you are still having trouble getting an accurate reading from your probes, please feel free to contact our Suport team directly at reviews@weberstephen.com so we can help. Thanks again and happy grilling!

Unable to connect to App. Instructions are the worst!! They don't explain that to connect you have to have probes plugged in. Even after trial and error cannot connect to app on either a phone or a tablet.Price is set way to high for a thermometer with so many issues and few features. iGrill system works so much better.

18 year old Weber Spirit

Bought my Weber Spirit almost 18 years ago. Still looks and works great. I have watched my neighbor go through three grills during this time and I still have had no problems. Cleaned it up yesterday and was so happy with the way it looked i wanted to share The only thing not working is the igniter and it is most likely something easy to fix or replace. I love this grill and if I ever needed another it would be Weber all the way.

Not worthwhile at least for normal thickness cuts of meat. Perhaps the slow response rate of the probes would work better for large roasts, whole chickens, etc. I regret this purchase. Will stick with my current thermometer.
