Sleep like a baby

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Im so glad to have been gifted this baby monitor from Stellar Product testing panel. I went from having to view a monitor that was hooked to a plug to viewing my little one straight from my phone in a awesome quality with full specs and helpful information about his sleeping patterns.
This Nanit baby monitor came with a band that monitors breathing so you will instantly be notified with a loud alarm if something is wrong with the baby.
Thank you Team stellar

Has many features packed into a little camera

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product through the Stellar Product Testing Panel and found that it was a great addition to my nursery.
The floor stand was easy to set up, and I liked that it came with cable management considerations built in. Getting started in the app was also a breeze, as the app guided me step-by-step and even had guidelines to show me how to position my crib so that I can get the full benefits of the Nanit camera. Would have preferred a bit more flexibility in positioning the Nanit around the crib, but at least the floor stand is quite thin and doesn't take up much space.
I liked that the camera has many built-in features that would normally require many separate devices - including night light, white or ambient noise, temperature and humidity sensor. And it is all packed into a small form factor.
The things I found extra special about the Nanit was the insights data. The insights were impressively accurate - they would tell me if baby woke up, or was removed from the bed, or was attended to by a caregiver, with the corresponding video footage. Having these snippets cropped and put together in a calendar format gave me an overview of the baby's day in, around and out of the crib.

Clear video with lots of features

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a really great baby monitor with lots of helpful features! I have a 2.5 year old and 4 month old have used a couple different monitors over the years—this one is by far my favorite! In the past, one of my biggest complaints has been that it is so hard to see what your baby is actually doing on the monitor. This video feed is crystal clear and so easy to see exactly what your baby is doing! My favorite feature is that it is a floor stand-it was super easy to build and can be easily moved from room to room if needed. There are glow in the dark caps on the legs of the floor stand which is genius! The camera also has a nightlight, options for soothing noises to play, and a microphone to talk to baby. The app is very helpful and includes “insights” which alert you to when baby wakes up, falls asleep, and is assisted by a caregiver. They even provide recommendations related to your child’s age. When we are ready to sleep train I could see this data being extremely helpful. The breathing band is also easy to use and provides feedback to the parent on child’s breathing during sleep. The only thing that I didn’t love about the monitor was that it did not capture time baby was asleep but not in the crib. Our baby has reflux so we need to hold her upright following feeds and that time was not included in the daily sleep data updates. Overall, I definitely recommend this beautiful monitor with great video clarity. Thank you to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this baby monitor.

Loving it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We were given a Nanit Pro Smart Baby Monitor and Stand to test as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. It has been great so far. Setup was really easy. From opening the box to setting up the app, took 20 minutes. I love that we didn’t have to drill any holes in our walls to use this camera. It comes with a stand and there is a mini stand you can purchase so you don’t have to worry about patching a hole later on.
The app is simple to use and has a lot of good information. I love the photo and clip storage so I can look back and see how much sleep my little guy is getting.
Our baby is 4 months old so the band that came with the box was too small. We ordered a couple of the sleep sacks. They have been great. They are adjustable and keep my baby the perfect temp at night. They are so soft and fit a good range of sizes. That’s great that I won’t have to purchase more for another year or so.
The breathing tracking is so smart. I love that I don’t have to have a sensor attached to monitor my baby. Nothing to charge or overheat my little guy.
We are also loving the 2 way talk feature. We can be downstairs and shush our baby while he is in the crib. The nightlight is also great. It lights up the area but doesn’t shine a light directly down onto the baby/in his eyes.
There are just so many great features to this camera. We really love it and will get so much use out of it, even when he has grown out of his crib. It’s compact enough to fit anywhere in the room.

The Nanit helps a nervous first time parent!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was generously gifted this from the Stellar Product Testing Panel, and it’s been amazing. The camera quality is top notch, and the features are next level. I love the nightlight on the camera, the noises, and the app. The best part about it are the insights that are available. You’re able to see playbacks of your baby falling asleep, being attended to, and waking up. On the app itself you can zoom in to see the breathing of your baby, weather you use the band or not. The band itself is great and helps track the babies breathing. The app also allows a night mode which we will use as our baby gets older and spends nights in the crib. The floor stand is easy to put together and the camera comes with clear instructions. We are obsessed with our Nanit Pro!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] To start off, I’d have to say that technology has really come a long way. It is amazing that there are devices like this Nanit Pro. I absolutely love this camera and wish I had it sooner. The company seemed to of put in so much thought and effort into every detail of this camera. From the user friendly app to the reassurance I get that my baby is safe, I would give it more than 5 stars if possible. The features this camera offers supasses any camera I have ever used or even looked into. To start off, installation was pretty easy - even for someone who is not handy at all like me. It can be either mounted on a wall, leaning on a wall, or even used as a freestanding camera. I decided to use it as a freestanding camera. I really like how I didn’t have to drill any holes in the wall. To first set it up, you simply snap and turn a few poles/pieces together and it’s done. For the wall leaning option, there is a u shaped bracket included that gets attached to the wall with two screws. There is a tube cover that goes over the cord to make sure it’s safe for babies. I appreciate the thoughtful idea from the company because I’ve always feared having any type of cords around my babies.
Now for one of the neatest features of the camera - the breathing monitor. You baby will have to wear one of the three breathing wear options - a swaddle, strap, or sack. You only wear one of those according to what fits your baby’s size and needs. Only the breathing wear strap was included. It is a cotton-like material in size 0-3 months. It has an adjustable velcro so that it can be used for some time. The velcro is very strong so I do not worry about it falling off during the night. My 3 month old is in the 90th percentile and currently wears 6 month clothes but the strap still fit him. I will transition him into the size small sack next which is fit for 3-6 months or maybe the larger strap that is for 3-24 months. I really appreciate how there are no cords and the breathing wear is so incredibly easy to incorporate. To start the breathing monitor session, you simply tap the start button on the live view and drag a circle marker to surround the breathing wear. It is very easy. This function of the camera is priceless to me because it gives me a peace of mind that my baby is being safely watched when I’m not around. There is a pattern on the breathing wear that allows the camera to sense the movement of my baby’s breathing. If the camera does not sense the baby’s breathing pattern, the app will notify me on my phone with a loud alarm sound. The camera will also play the sound. To turn the sound off from the camera, you can either put your hand over the lens or remove your baby from the cameras view. When you are going through the initial setup, there is an option to play the sound to be familiar with it just in case you don’t recognize it in the future. I thought that was very thoughtful.
The picture quality of the camera is super crisp and I can see every single detail with or without lighting. One of my favorite parts of the camera is the nightlight. It is an amazing feature and I especially love the timer option. At first, I felt as if the light was too dim, even on 100%, but after trying it, the brightness ended up being perfect because it doesn’t bother my baby at all. Another feature is an option to play 4 different sounds - birds, waves, white noise, and wind. You can choose to play the adjustable volume sound for 30 min, 60 min, or continuous. On the live view, there is also a screenshot button, mic (very clear I might add), audio on or mute, and the nightlight as mentioned earlier. On the top, it shows the temperature and humidity level. It seems to be accurate because I usually have a humidifier on in in my baby’s room and it shows to be an average of 45% but the few nights I forget to turn it on, the humidity level changes. The temperature does not seem to be as accurate but it is not extremely off. Our house thermostat is always set to 71 degrees and the camera will say it is anywhere from 72-75 degrees.
The app sends notifications when there is movement or sound detected. There have been many times the motion detection goes off and alerts me when there is no one there and just hears sound from another level in my house. It startled me at first thinking that there was someone upstairs in my baby’s room when everyone is on the main level but I got used to ignoring it now. I only pay attention to the notifications when he is in the crib.
There is a dashboard that shows my baby’s quality of sleep, duration, and how long it took for him to fall asleep. Ive noticed that it shows the times of my baby’s sleep incorrectly sometimes. For example, if I take him out in the early morning to do a quick feed and put back in the crib, that nights sleep recording ends right there. When he goes back into the crib, it counts that sleep time as a nap. Another thing shown on the dashboard is the night summary. It is a video that is in fast forward, quickly showing how his night went and if he was tended to in the middle of the night. A few things I wish I could do is to be able to scrub/skim through the videos, see a time stamp while watching, and be able to download night summaries. I can only download each individual movement and/or save them as my ‘memories’ in the app. Hopefully updates will be made and those options will be available later. A unique feature the app has is the movement map. It shows where my baby prefers to lay in the crib in fast forward. It will be fun to watch when my baby is a bit more mobile. Lastly, you see the night trend on the dashboard. It shows when he was awake, asleep, had a visit, and was not in the crib.
The biggest downfall of this camera is that you have to have the paid subscription to have pretty much all the features I have mentioned above. Without it, you can just watch it live - just like any other baby monitor. If I do not choose to continue with the subscription in a year, at least I will have a very clear video unlike some other ones I have used in the past. The Nanit Insights is the name of the first of the three paid options. It stores all the sleep information for two days. This camera, the Nanit Plus, comes a complimentary year.
To sum it up, I highly recommend this camera (and the subscription) to any new moms, second time mom, third time moms, and the rest of whoever else I forgot to mention :) There are features that are very convenient regardless if you have no experience or many years of experience being a parent. The many pros definitely outweigh the few cons.
Special thanks to Stellar Product Testing Panel for giving me the opportunity to try this camera in exchange for an honest review.
