Started smoking and wouldn't shut off

It's currently sitting outside in a snowbank. While mixing cookie batter, it started smoking and wouldn't turn off. Had to run outside (guess what my kitchen walls look like?) and ditch this smoking bomb. It continued running for another 3 minutes or so while smoking. Glad to report it didn't ignite. The house stinks like burnt lithium or metal or whatever, but not freshly baked cookies. Not sure I am going to go the cordless route in the future.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very Powerful with a sleek style and not too heavy. It whips whip cream in no time. Powerful enough to do heavy mixing!

My wife has had this for about 6 month and rarely uses it. Now, she can't use because it's crapped out. That's 2 Cuisinart items in the last few months that have crapped out on us. I think I'll be looking at other brands from now on.

I just got this mixer and let t charge overnight. I was so excited because I usually love Cuisinart products, and was really looking forward to no longer tripping over wires when using my hand mixer. Unfortunately, I never got to use it even once: the hand mixer would not start, and then the three LED lights all started flashing. I tried recharging it, cleaning the contacts, removing and replacing the blender are, and toggling just the power button, as well as the power and the speed buttons to r3eset and nothing worked. When it is unplugged and I try to turn it on, all three lights flash and nothing else happens, and when it is plugged in all three lights flash more rapidly. This is a real dissappointment.

Avoid This Mixer!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this for my wife years ago, and it stopped working during its second use. We moved shortly afterward, and I never got around to troubleshooting it because she already had her grandmother’s trusty corded mixer, so this ended up sitting in the back of the cabinet.
Fast forward to today: I was spring-cleaning the cabinets and thought I’d give this one more shot before throwing it away. Nope, all three lights started flashing at the same time. I checked the contacts, tried another charger, made sure everything was plugged in, attempted a hard reset, etc. Nothing worked. What a waste of money.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
