Well designed fun build, entertaining

I really enjoyed this build and it keeps the hands busy and the mind calm. I was prompted to get this after watching the design teams hilarious video and don't regret the purchase. Sure there a bit of repetitiveness but to get to the top of the tower drop, that was to be expected. The elevator shaft has remarkable design physics applied for a really smooth decent and assent. Detailing is top notch, printed pieces are most welcome and the lighted portrait is clever. Opening from the front to expose the interior is an excellent idea. Assembling the chain links takes a bit of tilme but well worth the effort. I connected 5 links 15 times for each side subtracting 1, giving 74 links. Do this twice. Instructions were great as usual. Yes, I would recommend this set.

This set is beautiful. The build was so much fun! I can't stop activating the elevator drop! It's, by far, one of the best sets Lego has produced in a very long time.
AND IT'S HUGE! It's hard to really appreciate the size of the build in photo.

This was a lot of fun to build, and even more fun to play with. We love the ride, the front door, and the spooky light/picture, as well as all the little details throughout. It did get a little tedious near the end, but that is to be expected, give then you are building a tower.
I did have two comments:
1) I know that you usually give extra pieces when they are really small, but for the chain that you have to build, there are actually two extra pieces provided. If you actually use the two extra pieces, the elevator works erratically.
2) Availability was really poor for this. It was unavailable for even a backorder for almost 2 months. I got lucky and one of the stores in my area finally had one, so I had to go to the store to get this. Hopefully you can meet demand on this set.

Great, but be careful

This was a fun build and a cool looking haunted house. When you are installing the gears and wheels, which will slow down the elevator as it comes down, be sure that every time you add the gears and wheels, you make sure they spin freely. And then every time you add LEGOs around the gears and wheels, make sure again that they spin freely. I had to do a rebuild because the elevator didn't work properly because the "brake" wheels had too much friction so the elevator wouldn't go up easily and would get stopped instead of slowed down by them. Other than that, the elevator is cool and the haunted house has a great look.

BEST LEGO SET TO DATE

I have been building Lego sets for about 20 years. Many of these sets have been loads of fun to build and to show off. But this Haunted House takes the cake. An absolute pleasure to build and has some of the best motion and special treats of any set I have ever seen. A must have for any Lego fan. Really, really good.

Awesome Set looks great and has amazing play features, the chain on the drop tower will sometimes snap and takes a bit of playing with to make it work just right, but overall its a great set definitely worth the price.
I would recommend this to a friend!

My son and I built this over the past week. The details of the roof around the tower, as my son put it, doesn't use rare parts, and it looks amazing. The different artifacts in the build, are a fun addition. The little stories in the instructions about the artifacts adds a bit of not expected excitement! The pipe organ is great as well. This set is highly recommended and will be a great addition to our amusement park.
