A little bit of wasted potential

It's a gorgeous looking house on the outside, but inside half of the space goes to support the elevator system which doesn't really function really well. Maybe it's fun to play with for kids, I don't know, but I couldn't stop thinking about how much more of interior could be fit inside if it wasn't for a giant elevator shaft.

Tight

Make sure the chain on this drop tower is tight, especially if you plan on using the power functions to run the ride portion of the model. I added two chain links initially because I though the chain was too tight. When I ran it without power functions it was fine. When I ran it with them it didn't run right. Lego is using the chain on the carriage as a portion of the braking system when ran with the power functions. Having the chain tight adds friction on the large bull wheels and keeps it from free spinning. (Overrunning)
That being said, I am absolutely enthralled with this model! Everything from the build to the Easter eggs is amazing. I had so much fun playing with the power functions and experimenting with dropping the ride at different heights! I am so glad I finally got my hands on this baby! I have all other amusement park rides lego has made and everyone of them just gets better and better. This one is top tier for sure.
Lots of attention needs to be paid when building the shaft the carriage rides in to be sure all the walls are straight and kept free from any piece being crooked in any way. This will cause the carriage to bind up.
So many details! Such a cool set! Thanks for reading and pick up this set if you love a challenge!

Awesome Set!

Great set to build, not to challenging. Elevator worked perfectly and is robust enough to handle the kids using it over and over. The brakes are brilliant to make the drop work without breaking the set. The haunted house color scheme and the mini figures provide a great experience and really tell a story.

Radical Build

Got this to build with the kids for Halloween... Half way through I found myself wanting to take over because it was pretty awesome! The kids had an absolute blast and the “tower of terror” feature is pretty fun to play with. We have combined ours with the Hidden Side graveyard and the Monster Hunter Haunted House with trick or treaters scattered between for a fun little Halloween centerpiece.

Great Set

Great overall set! IT looks nice and it works nice, way easier to operate than the coaster. It's worth the money and it's fun if a kid wants to play with it. I would definitely recommend this!

This was the first Creator Expert set I ever bought and I loved it! I could tell that the designers put a lot of thought into the details and tried to make the build as non-repetitive as possible (even though it had to be a little). My favorite part was probably the little grand piano. So many cool features packed into the house! I would highly recommend.

Luckily, I was able to order this set right away. First of all, this is a tall set. The elevator ride is great. Overall, very detailed, and from what I read, lots of Easter eggs here. My son enjoyed playing with it for hours.

Super Fun Build

I was super excited to snag this as VIP early release set. My 14 year old daughter , who isn’t really a lego fan (sigh), said she would help me build this though after some begging and temper tantrums that I am not proud to admit. She had a BLAST doing this build with me! We had so much fun and we both felt so accomplished once we were done!! I recommend this build for sure! It even has a elevator!! What’s not to love?!?!
