This hybrid snow blower worked right out of the box. It was easy to re-assemble from the box and insure that everything worked as intended.
It was a pleasure to see that the household current connection worked first and then the switchover to the battery onboard was really seamless. Both power sources worked well. I was able to check it all out and get it ready for winter (Agh) still a few months away, but wanted to be prepared ahead of time.
Thanks SnowJoe!

This thing is awesome. Works best in 4 to 8 inches of snow with a 6 to 8 foot throw. Light weight and easy to handle. Very pleased.

Surprisingly capable machine

I live in North Carolina. It doesn't snow here all that much and often is heavy or icy.
I'm also getting up in years. I thought it would be a good idea to have some help shoveling my driveway which is mostly gravel and more than 140 feet long with a moderately steep hill. So, I bought this hybrid SnoJoe machine 2 winters ago.
Last year I didn't use it since we didn't have much in the way of snow.
Overnight last night, we were honored with 3.5 inches of snow, mostly fluffy stuff.
In preparation, I made sure the SnoJoe was in working order, and the battery charged up fully.
This morning I got my chance to actually put this machine to work. First thing I did was my front walkway which is 30' long, all pavers. It took me a total of 10 minutes to completely clear all the snow. What????
I then moved to the top of the driveway, of which the first 20 feet is pavers. Again, the SnoJoe cleared it in about 10 minutes. I thought, maybe this machine actually will help with the gravel part which is most of the driveway.
So, I began on that part. Well, it wasn't nearly as easy as doing the other parts, it DID do a pretty good job clearing it all. What impressed me the most is the fact that I did the walkway, the paver portion of the driveway and 90% of the gravel driveway on a single charge!!! I pulled the battery out and charged it for 15 minutes and finished up the job.
The entire project took me just under 1 hour (as opposed to the 3 I needed to shovel by hand) start to finish including the time it took to partially charge the battery then clean up the machine after the job was done.
The machine did throw a lot of gravel around so I had to be a bit careful where the shoot pointed. It really shoots rocks like projectiles. To avoid this, I had to hold the machine at a little bit of an angle above the surface of the drive which worked for the most part.
I wished that there was an accessory available to hold the machine up in the front off the surface maybe 1/2 half inch or so. I plan on making a pair for this purpose for future use.
Also, a self propelled option sort of like a lawn mower would be really nice.
Other than these 2 minor things, I found the SnoJoe exceeded my expectations by far.
Given that this was a fluffy snowfall made the job easier. We'll see at some point when the precipitation is wetter and/or icier how well it works but I'm truly impressed.

Nice product, better with a few adjustments

I bought this product a year ago. It works good on small to medium size snowfall. Quit enough that I can clear the yard without wakening anyone in the morning. Two improvements that could be done. One, when running on the battery, the shoot tends to clog unless you take short pushes with it. Probably could invent something to clear shoot easier than stopping it or banging it on the ground. Second, when removing the battery, it tends not to come out as easy as it goes in. I use a small piece of metal to push the battery out. Need to make sure you don't hit the battery connectors. I wonder if something can be put on the machine to make this easier especially when you have been out for a while and everything is cold. All in all, I like my snowjo hybrid.

LOL (little ol' lady) is able to handle this.

I am a genuine LOL (5'1", 110 lbs, 77 years old) who could no longer handle a medium sized gas snowblower. The upside is that I can easily handle this. One of the great feature is the adjustable handle. I just came indoors from blowing 8 inches (thank goodness it was powdery and light) from 70 yds of sidewalk plus a 4 car driveway. I ran out of battery at the very end which took me 30 mins. The downside is the narrower swath means it takes longer (which I knew it would) but the aspect that frustrates me most is that it doesn't throw snow very far and a lot of it just dribbles down the side. That said, I am grateful that manufactures make these smaller machines so I can continue to do this on my own without paying someone else to do it. Additionally, with the battery power, you are not paying for gas and maintenance. I bought this as a refurb and it looks like new except for a few scratches here and there and a minuscule amount of paint missing from the handle. If you can handle a larger machine than that is a better choice but for puny people this machine is worth considering.

Better than I expected.

I am a mid-60 year-old woman. Have used 4 times; from 3" to 8". The fluffier the snow, the better but it did move some pretty wet, heavy stuff too. I use to clear a car-sized spot on driveway, sidewalks, deck, and even a path to the bird feeder. Easy to move and lift up to deck. I have used it only with battery, and am curious to see if it throws snow better with electric cord. With battery, I'd say throws closer to 8' max than 10', (therefore not 5 stars) but works well in my situation. Battery charges quickly. Battery compartment does not like to stay closed, but not a big issue. Overall, I recommend this product.

Best Snow Blower ever!

Its the best snow blower ever, extremely easy to use and powered chute comes in really handy. I love its hybrid feature as I was able to do my far distant sidewalks on battery that lasted all throughout. Highly recommended.
