We love our zero water pitcher. For over 25 years I had well water and for 5 years spring water, when I came back home to take care of my mother all I could taste and smell in this water was the chlorine in the water, and my ZeroWater pitcher completely removed it .

When newly installed, water gets stuck and won't flow through the filter. On my own, I figured out to take out the filter, shake it, and then reinstall it. You do this when you see the water does not go completely into the container. For example, fill the reservoir and wait 10 minutes. If you see some water has flowed from the reservoir through the filter to the container, wait another 10 minutes. If no more water flowed to the container, shake the filter and try again. I have waited half a day to make sure it is not just that the water is flowing very slowly. It stops flowing. But shaking gets the water flowing. After a few fill shake fill cycles, you no longer need to shake the filter.
An alternative to providing instructions to shake the filter is for ZeroWater to develop a filter that works just as well but does not require shaking.
In any case, ZeroWater's filter is the best. I know of no other company that provides a tester so that you can see for yourself that it is working and can compare it with other filters and water straight from the tap. So, it is certainly worth the trouble of shaking the filter for the first few cycles on changing the filter.

Have found it useful, but now finding myself priced out of Zerowater. If you live in an area like I do in California, a small household can run through a filter in less than week.

Thank you for contacting ZeroWater. We empathize with your situation and we have spoken with many customers with this issue. There is very little we can do to extend the life of our filters when the water supply is so high in TDS. Our filters are designed to remove over 99% of dissolved solids; in areas with high TDS readings filter life will be short.

I have used the Zero Water Premium 5-Stage water filter for 10 years and have not found a better one. The filtered water I enjoy also gives me peace of mind knowing that what I am drinking is CLEAN! My espresso machine needs maintenance rarely as there is next to no contaminant build up.

Filters don’t drain properly. Why do I I have to take the top out of the pitcher and sit it on top to get it to drain? And once the water reaches the bottom of the filter it stops again. So frustrating but it’s a good filter. How can this be fixed?

Thank you for contacting ZeroWater. From time to time the filter can develop an air lock, some little air pockets or air bubbles that get trapped down inside the filter. Typically this is an easy and quick fix, simply remove the filter from the container and unscrew it from the tray. Then hold the filter sideways/horizontal and grip the filter very tightly and shake the filter with some good force side to side and back and forth 8 to 10 times. This will loosen the filter media and break the air lock.
