I'll admit I was terrified of this machine at first. But after following all instructions, I sliced some ham and was so pleased with the ease of the process.
One drawback from me, and I'll have to seek support, if removing the blade for cleaning. The photo in the instructions shows someone using a coin and turning clockwise. I could not do it with a coin or a screwdriver. It felt like I would damage the area if I forced it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The Perfect Machine for Slicing

Never used one of these before - but found ourselves needing and using this one for cheese (both dry and slightly soft), crisps, baguettes, ham, and different meats. This slicer is easy to use and has been a terrific asset in the kitchen prep for our winery! Yes, to remove and clean the blade, you have to turn it with a coin or the like COUNTER clockwise. It removes easily then (yes, I tried clockwise and then read the directions on the knob).
I would recommend this to a friend!

WILL NO LONGER TURN ON, FLIMSY, SLIDES ALL OVER THE COUNTERTOP, HAVE TO HUG IT TO KEEP IT IN PLACE ALL WHILE SLICING AND NEXT TO A 7' BLADE... PLASTIC JUNK. CHEF'S CHOICE WILL NOT HONOR WARRANTY, AWFUL! NUMBER ON THE PAPERWORK IN BOX NO LONGER WORKS, SHADY COMPANY.

Now worthless

Gears are plastic and wear out early. I wouldn't buy it again. And, I can't find the parts. Not even by the Manufacturer, so I've got one that's worthless.

Had it for just over a year. Died slicing beef. Thought I threw a breaker switch, but it seems the slicer is just a piece of junk. 'Nuff said. Will go commercial grade moving forward.
