So far it has been a great sliver. I have only done about 15# of round roast for jerky. I bought it because of the ability to slice whole pork belly. Time will tell!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Its around 4 yrs old and only used twice a year.
The plastic ring that holds the blade in place. The black screw on screws into it. Now the blade wobbles.

I got this as a gift from my kids. I had a chef’s choice for many years. It was great, but this one the fuse keeps blowing all the time.,

Didn't last...can't get the part...

Bought this last year, and have probably used about 10 times...slicing some roast beef, and suddenly the blade froze, and there was a grinding noise...took the slicer apart, and the pinion blade gear had stripped...(metal screw driving a plastic gear...wonder why that happened)...and now the part is out of stock...what a piece of junk...

I purchased this unit and used it once.
I took it apart to clean afterwards and after reattaching the blade I noticed it was wobbly and would not cut a consistant thickness. Upon further investigation I fount the sleeve that the blade revolves on had been previously broken and glued back together and the glue had come loose. This was not purchased as a refurbished unit. Cheap factory repair??

Weak

- The blade is too small but you can always buy a bigger slicer.
- Good to slice something soft like meat, but not crispy like bread. The electric motor is taking a lot of room, then slice gets deformed. Then the thickness is not uniform.
- The left part of the holder is weak. It moves with the pressure applied to the food when slicing. Then, slices are not uniform from each other.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
