Great Camera System

I did a lot of research on these camera before making my purchase. The Lorex wire-free system met all my requirements and more. I do not run my camera off of the battery, rather I have them plugged in all the time. I do not have to worry about charging batteries and I am able to have the cameras on a continuous recording versus only recording upon motion detection. I have had my cameras installed for a month now and have been very pleased!

Cordless and wireless system

Cameras already have three weeks installed and works great, solar panels keep batteries charged without issues. System is friendly to operate and provide real time notifications.

Fits our needs

We were looking for an easy to install, wireless, no subscription system that would fit our needs for remote monitoring of our property. The Lorex L222A8D Series was the perfect low cost, low maintenance choice. Our own extensive research and the recommendation from someone that has the same system at their mountain cabin led us to a final decision. When you're away the critters will play and with the world we live in today having an eye on things helps ensure a little peace of mind. The Gendarmerie is only a phone call away.

Get Lorex!!!! Ive used them for years

If anyone looking for a nice EASY security system....LOREX is the one!!!!! I already had an 8 camera hard wire set up in Florida, but wanted wireless here for the farm we moved too so we can limit wire runs...... beautiful crisp pic, set up in 5 min, remote access, motion and detects human to eliminate false positives .....LOVE THIS UNIT !!!!

Works Well

The first thing that impressed me was the packing. The kit has many parts – the two cameras, their batteries, the recorder, a mouse, several cables, two manuals (for using the app or the recorder’s OS and a TV), and even a toolkit. They all had their own boxes, neatly nested into one large box.
The next impressive things were the clarity of the manuals, and the downloaded Cirrus app for my iPhone.
Using the app, I paired the cameras with the recorder, then mounted them outside the house to view the front and back doors.
Then came a problem: the cameras began to drop out and had to be paired again, and also did not appear to be recorded. I called Lorex and the rep said he needed to see into what the app was doing by getting my permission to look at my phone. I reluctantly agreed and saw a screenshot was taken. Then the rep said we needed to look into what the Lorex OS on the recorder was doing, by attaching the mouse and a TV. I said that would take awhile. Meanwhile we tried unplugging the recorder to reboot it, and that lost the camera pairings. At that point the rep gave me a ticket number and said I was to call back after getting a TV going and using the recorder’s OS.
So I found and connected a little TV with the kit’s HDMI cable, and tried to use the Lorex OS to set up the cameras and diagnose what they were telling the recorder. I found the interface incomprehensible and would have be talked through it by calling Lorex.
Meanwhile, based on a tip in the manual, I moved the cameras about ten feet closer to the recorder, which was next to my router. They are now about 30 feet away from it. I paired the cameras with the recorder again using the app, and they have worked well ever since.
The camera battery indicators show about half-used after ten days. So far the cameras have caught a family of opossums living under our deck. The field of view is quite wide and can be zoomed in by gestures on the phone.
The Cirrus app is easy to use from the beginning, and then has many features that must be discovered through use and viewing the built in Help, and the occasional tips that appear.
The whole system is well designed and works beautifully, with the advantage of being owned outright with no external storage or subscription. Just don’t get into using the recorder with a TV monitor ;-)

Fist security system

This was the first time that we have purchased a security system so we spent a lot of time reading reviews as well as learning how various systems work. The Lorex system is EXACTLY as described on its website! The reviews that we read are accurate and to the point as well. This system was recommended to me by a friend and it was a great recommendation! The system arrive promptly and it was well packed. It even included a small box of tools for installation. Installation was simple and took less than 5 minutes per camera. We love the fact that we keep our videos and not some company or cloud. This is a great product and I can’t wait for the wireless doorbell to be released!
