Easy to install for even this non tech guy. Cameras work great and pick up movement. Easy to adjust. The app for the I phone certainly needs some work but that is another issue.

This camera system is one of the systems in the crowded marketplace which caught my attention. The amazing features it has and a great price. All in all a fantastic product and the icing on the cake is the no subscription fees. these are few reasons I chose Lorex over other competitors. Will install it once I receive my product and will write a follow up review on my experience. Cheers!!!

Replaced our Legacy System for a new Wireless System. The packaging was beyond anything we have ever received. The ease of installation and setup were a breeze.
The picture quality and field of view are excellent. We would recommend this product to anyone looking for a user friendly and quality system.

I was looking for a camera system to replace my old analog wired security cameras and DVR. I was hoping to go totally wire free vs my old system with which I had to run BNC cables and 5V cable from my DVR (which also required drilling a hole in the exterior wall for all the cables). I also don't have a lot of power outlets on the exterior of the house, so totally wire free seemed to make the most sense. I also wanted to be able to use either Google Hubs or Alexa Echo Shows for convenient display of the video This system seemed to have the potential to meet my needs.
Setup was a little more difficult than I had anticipated.
1) Instructions have screenshots from a different UI than I see on the Android app and from the PC application. I did not connect a monitor directly to the base station, so I'm not sure if that interface is what was captured.
2) As the interface was different than what was in the instructions, it took me some time find how to enable Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. Enabling Google was simple enough, but enabling Alexa was glitchy, as the software did not ask for the Alexa account to link and did not confirm whether it was successful or not in linking the account. It took a lot of trying different things (closing the Alexa app, restarting the phone, repeating the process over and over) before I got it to ask for the Alexa account and actually linked. I still don't know what I did that actually made it work.
3) I got a message shortly after completing the setup, which indicated a storage failure. Not sure what that was, but after hunting around in the app, I finally found where I could reformat the drive, after which it worked and it could record video clips.
The battery packs were one of the most important features for me. They are removeable, so they can be easily be removed for recharging. Also, it is recharged thru a micro-USB port, so there may be some different options for adding a solar panel to charge them in-situ. Also, maybe hook-up a battery pack to charge or extend the batteries. And then the possibility of running power out to the camera too. This last option is important, as I found that this system will only trigger recording of video clips after motion is detected (you can configure to 10sec to 60sec, if I recall correctly). I prefer continuous recording, as I have previously found the things that I want to view later are at a distance and would probably not have triggered a motion detector. The software only provides the continuous recording option when the camera has external power provided and will disable continuous recording if the charging is discontinued. This last point is disappointing, as I was hoping to record continuously and use a solar panel to charge the batteries during daylight, however, with the way Lorex has designed and implemented their software, the continuous recording would be disabled with sundown. So the only way to get continuous recording is by running a power cable to the cameras.
I tried using the Lorex Cirrus Android app, the Lorex Cirrus PC application, a Amazon Echo Show 5, and a Google Hub to display a camera.
1) Both the Lorex Cirrus Android app and PC application have a 1-2 sec lag in the video. The two have very different interfaces and capabilities as well, which surprised me. I'll need to hook up a monitor and mouse directly to the base station to see if it has more capabilities with a direct hook up.
2) It works fairly well with the Echo Show 5. With only a 3-4sec lag. If I provide external power to the camera and enable continuous recording, then the Echo Show will persistently show the video feed from the camera.
3) It does not work very well with the Google Hub. Lag was 8 to 14sec and it would often have to buffer and maybe not actually come back at all. Also, when the configured for continuous recording, the Google Hub would still stop displaying after a short time and return to its home s...

Great camera. Very detailed day and night image. Wide 140 degree viewing angle compared to standard 70 degree angle with standard Image on most other cameras is much better. One of the important feature for me is the two way audio which allow me to interact anyone on my driveway or door.

I bought this system mainly
on December 23, 2020

I bought this system mainly on my requirement for a completely wireless setup as I don't want to run wires for power or data. I've had it for several months now and these are my thoughts so far. While it fulfills that requirement, it is lacking in some areas. First off, the best and only reliable way to monitor this system is to connect it directly to a monitor by the hdmi output on the box. The lorex client 13 software is absolutely useless in my opinion to try and monitor and control from a computer. I'm pretty computer capable but I could not get the lorex and my computer to communicate, I can see the lorex on my firewall map and tried everything I could. I'm sure a person with a degree in network technology could make them talk but the average person is not going to find this option friendly or usable. I ended up getting an hdmi switch so I can switch between my computer or the lorex to the monitor. The phone app works somewhat ok for remote monitoring but it's not great for accessing settings and I've had issues reviewing recordings. Reviewing recordings is much easier from the lorex to the monitor. Recently I was away for an extended period, almost 4 weeks, the phone app worked fine til about 3 weeks out. All of a sudden the feeds disappeared and the app couldn't connect to the lorex anymore but 3 of the 4 cameras appeared accessing directly from lorex to the monitor when I got home. After I got home, I had to update the firmware via the usb method because of same connectivity issues. Then all the camera feeds disappeared until I bought them close to the lorex box then they reconnected and worked fine after placing them back where they were mounted. I know the wireless cameras are not going to be as good as wired ones but quality isn't the best, day time they are not bad, night I?m not sure if you'd get a good ID on someone. My ring doorbell camera is much better quality at night than these. I had a lot of issues with battery drain no matter how I adjusted the sense area or motion sensitivity, every little wind blowing a branch or cars going by would start a recording and cause the battery to drain pretty quickly. I switched the cameras from motion to people sensing in the settings which helped a ton with this issue. I feel the accessories sold are very high priced. I bought 2 of the 3 cell batteries for the front cameras which also helped with battery life quite a bit. I didn't want the solar recharging panels in the front but liked the idea for the back-yard cameras. The ones lorex markets are WAY overpriced. I bought aftermarket ones that were 1/3 of the price and work fantastic keeping the rear yard cameras charged, even during the low sun cloudy winter days. It's just a typical micro usb connector.
