[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have had this dishwasher for 2 months now and we love it. Our old dishwasher (another brand) was only 4 years old and broke down. This new Kitchenaid dishwasher is more quiet and cleans a lot better than our old dishwasher. I can now stick pot, pans and dishes with baked on food into the dishwasher and know with confidence that it will come out completely clean. So far, we love this dishwasher!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the quietest dishwasher I have ever had. It has cleaned everything we put in it, even the pots! The third rack gets used every time we run dishwasher, which surprised me- I really didn't think we would use it much. Installation was flawless. Tech was very knowledgeable about the product, and did a great job. He even called us up after several days to see if we had any questions and to make sure dishwasher was meeting our expectations. Gee Squad guys are the best!

High Quality

In terms of DIY installation, I Installed myself and it was a bear to get in, but in all the right ways! Clarifying, that I DIY installed this in place of our 3rd whirlpool dishwasher in just under 8 years. The reason it was difficult was two fold first in that it would have been much easier installing new as opposed to into an existing cavity with less clearance on lines and drill-holes for the whirlpool syphon pump line. Second, it was difficult to install due to the usage of far more of the clearance space to provide observably higher quality insulation, motors, safety features (Has a security feature drip-tray below aqueous connections on the unit that will alert/disable the dishwasher if you have a leak that would otherwise go unnoticed and damage your floor/sub-floors! how OP is that!?) and insulation.(purposely mentioned twice.... you'll see if you install it, it's a beast!) Personally, the difficulty in installing was more related to clearances and previous install holes than any actual difficulty in installing which was a DIY cinch overall with the provided instructions.
In terms of dishwashing noise it is surprisingly quieter during normal operation in comparison to the whirlpool, but similarly in volume if and ONLY if the cleaning jets are on their highest setting. Otherwise the bountiful insulation and corner soundproofing appears to make this unit run quite quietly during most of the wash cycles. Again, this isn't bad in my opinion as the previous unit was medium-quiet too.
In terms of cleaning quality when washing dishes, the unit does what is expected of it and the dishes all come out clean and sanitary with only mild wetness on plastics . The wife continues to praise herself for wading through the lengthy and complicated process we undertook to actually acquire a 3rd level utensil rack. FYI@Kitchenaid - Please make utensil rack an interchangable option on your next models, it seems like a lot of people we know preferred the utensil rack or were disappointed with the free flex.
In terms of overall value, it's too early to say but in general from what I observed during the installation, industry opinion, homeowner opinion, and our research it would appear the extra money will (knock on wood) be well worth it into the future. Only time will tell if Kitchenaid is still king but so far so very very good.
