Amazing Dishwasher

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I replaced an old KitchenAid dishwasher because it began leaking. I researched models and decided to purchase another KitchenAid with three shelves and an amazingly noise rating of 39 decibels.
It is so very quiet which impressed me. But was even more impressive was how well it cleared the dishes. I used to wash my dishes prior to loading them into the dishwasher but now I simply scrape them off and they come out sparkling. Now the last load I washed did not clean the chili from the bowls but I realized that the bowls were loaded incorrectly and the water could not hit the bowls. I’m going to wash them again and hop for better results.
The third drawer at the top of the dishwasher is a fantastic idea.
I no longer have to find the space on the other shelves to put in cooking utensils. The interior is spacious The energy consumption is low. The controls are easily accessible and very straightforward.
I’m looking forward to years of use comparable to my previous one.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Breaks constantly
on October 18, 2023

We’ve had this dishwasher for about a year & a half now and twice now, the same part has gone bad on it and had to be replaced. This part is also always on backorder. Last time it broke (less than 6 months ago in fact), the part took about 4 weeks to come in. This time, the part is still on backorder and we’ve been without a dishwasher for over 3 weeks now again. I loved this dishwasher so much and recommended it to several friends, but now this is insanity and I would have to absolutely not recommend anyone purchasing it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So we had a previous kitchen aid dishwasher and it lasted nine and a half years which was ok in terms of length of service especially here in Phoenix AZ the water here is very hard. Water heaters only last five years on average. So our old one started making noise and knowing what I know about the life span of appliances in this hard water environment rather than attempt to fix it I looked for a new one. We wanted black, controls on top rather than front controls as we always seemed to numb the front controls and the dishwasher would start so top controls were mandatory. Also had to have a handle rather than some built into the face opening that you pull on. Needed to have stainless steel tub as they get hotter and dry better and number one requirement had to be quiet. This is rated at 39db. Standing next to it when it’s running you can just barely hear it. Sitting eight feet away at the breakfast table it is silent. Due to the pandemic I didn’t want an installer in the house so I put it in myself. The directions were ok but could be a little bit clearer. Anyhow installed, running, very quiet, pull handle feels very sturdy and the top rack slides are improved leading to a much stronger feeling about the durability of the top rack. Third rack for utensils is very useful, old washer didn’t have that feature.
Price was competitive with other machines that I shopped for online. My son just replaced his five year old Bosch with another Bosch and the pamphlet on his machine said 44db, quietest machine made. That’s a big lie from Bosch.
We are very satisfied with this machine and would recommend it to anyone.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We had this new dishwasher installed last week and we love it.
It's been a long time since I purchased a new dishwasher. My how a lot has changes.
We really really like the top shelf that can clean spatulas, tongs and flat items. It's extremely handy.

Frustrated

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I can’t rate the new Kitchenaid dishwasher that we purchased the first part of December because it hasn’t worked since it was installed. It’s my understanding that it can’t be replaced since it has already been installed. So, we are waiting on a part that has been ordered for a brand new machine and as much as I would like to be able to give a five star rating, I cannot.

Quieter than vacuumed space

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Best dishwasher I ever owned. So quiet I feel need to listen for water filling from sink pipes despite lights indicate it's on. Has "clean" light to indicate current load of dishes was successfully washed. Control panel is super touch sensitive but this is not meant in negative way. Crisp blue indicator lights on control panel and front upper right panel. Very wide. spacing for loading, third upper rack is awsome to have plus a sturdy utensil basket with spaced openings for spoons (love it, each spoon exposed for good wash) basket with 2 small square openings for loading utensils needing more space. Third rack has great spacing so all loaded utensils exposed to water/washing. Middle rack adjustable to height (haven't used yet). Heating element is exposed coil like in some ovens (look odd to me at first) but I wonder if this is reason for next to no water collection on cup bottoms, etc...., impressively, only scant dribbles of water remain on some items post wash. You can actually see the rinse aid level left. Never had a D.W. that so clearly visualized rinse aid. Have not used all wash cycles/options yet since have had about 1 1/2 weeks. Classic signature kitchenaid metal handle is very handsome. JUST LOVE THIS DISHWASHER.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] the only complaint I have is the placement of the silverware rack...it is on the side requiring the user to open the door all the way to be able to place a fork or single item in the silverware tray....it should be in the front.

Stainless Steel Stains!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have had this unit for about four years. It cleans great, but the stainless steel from gets rusty. I tried to get it off with cleaners and finally submitted to a 3M pad and it scracted up the entire front panel. We just completed our kitchen remodel with the last piece of KitchenAid and we waited seven months for the range and hood.
