Rust on Front Door

I have had this dishwasher for 13 months now. The vent on the front panel above the door handle is starting to rust around the vent. I just noticed it today and unfortunately, my unit is out of the 12-month warranty period so they will not fix it. Even though the rust likely started more than a month ago in the 12 month warranty period, but I just noticed it.

Very quiet and no issue with steam vent

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've had our new KitchenAid dishwasher for about two months and have had zero issues. Cleans perfect. Extremely quiet. I have not experienced the issue some people have complained about regarding steam dripping onto the floor from the vent when the door is opened. I was initially concerned about this after reading the reviews, but have not had it happen to me. Possibly the reason could be because I don't unload my dishwasher as soon as it's finished.........I usually run it at night before we go to bed, so by morningtime when I unload it, it's cooled down completely.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Bad product, stay away

I am writing this review out of extreme frustration with my KitchenAid Dishwasher (Model: KDTE204KPS2). For months, I've been trapped in a cycle of recurring breakdowns for the exact same problem. Service visits provide only temporary fixes, with the issue inevitably resurfacing shortly after.
Being without a functioning dishwasher for days on end while awaiting service is incredibly disruptive and stressful. A product from a brand like KitchenAid should not require such frequent, ineffective repairs, especially for a persistent fault.
After multiple attempts to fix the identical problem, it's clear these repairs are not a long-term solution. I've completely lost confidence in this appliance's reliability. Avoid this model if you value a working dishwasher.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
