Quiet! Looks great. Doesn't dry well, other quirks

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this to replace a 15+ year old GE dishwasher that finally died. I am disappointed in this KitchenAid because it was not an inexpensive dishwasher and I don't feel the quality matches the price. On one hand it is an attractive addition to my kitchen, matching my KitchenAid refrigerator. It is also very very quiet, as advertised. So far, five stars. However, I am rating this dishwasher three stars for the following reasons...
1) It does not dry very well. Even on extended dry setting, condensation remains on the inside of the dishwasher and moisture settle on the dishware. There is always water in the filter/pump area. So the inside of the dishwasher seems swampy unless left open to air out.
2) This dishwasher sometime does not clean starch water or a light grease film from dishes on a normal cycle. Must be run on "Tough".
3) The rack tines in the bottom are straight, there is no bend in the wire to help "catch" plates and things from falling forward.
4) The silverware basket lids do not flip up out of the way. They have to be removed when not in use.
5) The lower kick on the outside of the dishwasher is made of black plastic, not painted metal.
6) I have to run it on "Tough" and "Extended Dry" to get the same result of my old cheaper dishwasher's "normal" wash/dry cycle.

Very Good with some issues

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very quiet, excellent cleaning. My old Kitchen Aid dishwasher had much better racks; I kept my old bottom rack to replace the new one. The middle rack in the new Kitchen Aid is not designed well for small to medium storage containers and small dishes.

Quiet dishwasher

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This dishwasher is replacing my 18 year old Miele.
Pros: it runs quietly.
Cons: The third rack for silverware is flimsy and silverware does not stay put. I even measured to see if I could replace this rack with the one from the old Miele, no go. The bottom rack does not hold as many dishes as the Miele. If there is food remaining on a dish or silverware and the heated dry cycle is used, the food particle turns to concrete. I do have to rinse or scrape more when loading it to achieve a clean load.
I live in a rural area and chose kitchen aid due to availability of parts and more repair folks are familiar with them. I have had this appliance for about a month and am still getting to know how to load/use it for best results.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Replaced my 12 year old LG dishwasher with this Kitchenaid dishwasher. It is doing a great job cleaning my dishes. I especially like the 3rd roll utensil drawer, it leaves no stuck on food behind.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Cleans very well and is very quiet. Have only had for about 1 week . I can’t tell if it’s clean or dirty after I run and leave alone. Will have to look - also if someone adds dishes they don’t know what cycle it’s at because the lights are hidden under the counter

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This dishwasher went into a new build. I have one that is 4 years old in another home, and have been very happy with it. This unit is not as well-built and doesn’t deliver the same level of clean as the older model, which is disappointing.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using this 3 level dishwasher for about 4 weeks, I am a middle age women with 2 kids,
The lowest level of the dishwasher to load plates and caddy is soo low it is bringing back my back pain, imagine bending 20times to touch your toes on one side of your body to load this dishwasher.
The middle rows does not have right sots for mugs, they become wobbly, and the top most rack for silverware if of no real use as they all can be put in the caddy.
I was very excited to use it now dreading everyday as if dishwashing wasn't already feeling like a time wasting chore of an hour, now even worse.
My constructive feedback to KitchenAid is to know your customers, who are mostly women. Given birth. And low back and stomach support and work backwards, come up with a better design
This design is making my life harder, am in tears everyday.
