Nice unit but

Bought it about a month ago, more plastic than my previous one which leads me to believe, it will not last as long as the previous one which leads me to believe it will not last as long. Kitchen aid needs to start making products that last longer than 5 yesrs

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) After waiting 5 months for delivery I am happy with my new dishwasher. It is very quiet and gets the dishes sparkling even on the express setting. It replaces a 15 year old dishwasher and I am pleased with its performance.

I bought this dishwasher about 5 months ago from a local home appliance store and absolutely love how quiet it is. There are times that I don't realize it's running while I'm watching TV in the same great room (kitchen, dining room and living room). The 3rd rack at the top is awesome for small items such as spatulas and whisks. I've never been disappointed at how clean the dishes come out - even dried on eggs after sitting for 2 days. I've only used the Normal cycle and never use the heated dry feature, but do shake the water off of the plastic tubs and turn them sideways to dry. It did take a bit of getting used to the layout of the racks and learning how to efficiently put the dishes in the rack so they are facing the center. I've discovered that salad plates will fit in the main top rack which frees up space on the bottom rack for larger items such as dinner plates and mixing bowls.
The wash cycle takes a bit longer than my previous dishwasher and I wish it had a countdown timer so I know how much longer before it's complete. This is the only thing keeping me from giving a 5 star rating.

We purchased this KitchenAid dishwasher, and it has been a wonderful machine. We did not know how poorly the old one was working until we experienced the very clean dishes from this new one. It is very quiet in operation, is easy to load, is of quality construction, is very well appearing, and it really does the job. We are very pleased with this dishwasher.

PLEASE go back to old style Quality Racks

the new rack lack proper placement for dishes due to the placement of the stems [ dividers posts ]
too bad I can't do that to the center rack however its some what tolerable.
I'm now using the Express wash cycle to have from waiting 4Hrs . Top rack is useless
