My Asus RT AX-3000 is an inexpensive small attractive compact router connected to a Spectrum modem in a 1100-square-foot house. Ookla iPhone test WiFi speeds near the router are 456 Mbps download and 20.5 Mbps upload. Two non-Asus extenders are used to send a fairly strong signal through the house and into the backyard. The signal is weaker from the extenders. Setup was easy with the app. The plan is to replace the extenders with an Asus ZenWiFi Mesh WiFi 6 System for even better coverage. An advantage of the Asus products is the lifetime internet security feature.

Works great. Good range and can handle several devices running at same time. I added another ASUS Ac1900 to my shop and created a AiMesh system. Works great.

I was prepared to spend hours on getting our new router installed. Instead using the smart phone app it took me only a few minutes to configure. And it performs as expected.

With my new AX3000 router, trying to use the AX Wifi 6 protocol with my 2 AX devices has caused problems with my non-AX devices. I also cannot write to my external USB hard drive that is connected to the router as a media server.
I did contact ASUS support for help via chat. I did some suggested modifications to frequencies, and turned off AX on the 2.4Ghz band. That helped. Still having issues with my external USB hard drive.
I just upgraded from a Netgear Nighthawk AC1900 router, that worked very well, for the most part. I wanted to take advantage of the AX Wifi 6, but not sure that it is worth the hassle and extra cost.

Honestly, the router works great, haven't had any issues yet, owned it's for a couple years. I'll be upgrading in a few year to a new 10g Ethernet model when this one starts to slow me down. Currently get gigabit internet to all devices wired or not so no complaints.
