I bought a P1 with the intel i9 processor a few months ago and I am concerned with how hot it gets. The fans constantly run and are extremely noisy no matter what I do. Generally the performance is good but it really seems that this laptop is not designed to the standard I was hoping for from Lenovo.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Lenovo appreciates all feedback and thank you for taking the time to rate and review our product! We apologize for your inconvenience. Please refer to our Technical Support at https://support.lenovo.com/ca/en/.
Also, for overheating, we recommend making sure that your device is kept clean as well as ensuring that it is kept in the right place so that airflow is not restricted.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It was better than macbook pro I have. I have MacBook Pro touchbar version 2017 however I'm not longer using it as ThinkPad P1 Gen 3 is better than MacBook Pro. I will stick to ThinkPad for future buy.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This laptop is incredibly powerful and surprisingly light. Its screen is beautiful and very crisp. I love the keyboard too. Overall, I am very pleased with this laptop and would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a powerful but portable computer.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Fast boot time, easy to use and very good specs for a laptop. Was able to get gaming and video processing to work very smoothly. Great value as well.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] One of the nicer and slimmer Quadro equipped laptops I have found. This is a very powerful package for its size, and can have the power needed for most engineering jobs. As can be expected from a thin laptop, the fans can get pretty loud when running heavy CAD or simulations, but I can personnaly live with that as it's not my daily task. I'd go for a beefier laptop (Like P15) if that was the case. Build quality is as expected for a thinkpad.
