[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great machine overall, but tends to run hot with high fan RPM compared to its HP counterpart. Overall satisfied with the purchase.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just what I was looking for. It has the excellent quality I've become used to from Lenovo machines over the years. It is powerful enough to run multiple virtual machines with ease, yet it is nice and light weight.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used ThinkPads for a long time, and the P1 Gen 3 does not disappoint. The fact that you can get a 6-core Xeon and 64G ram, while also maintaining all-day battery life is incredibly impressive. The OLED display is also great, but the 16:9 aspect ratio and large bezels when most of the competition has 16:10 displays with much smaller bezels does leave this laptop feeling noticeably last-gen.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall a great machine. I love how fast it is and seamless with running various applications and handling large calculations like they're nothing.
One issue is that I've started receiving BSOD messages - which is concerning given the expense of this computer and how new it is. However, it wakes up from them very quickly and the FaceID function is a game-changer. Love this computer!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Not as good as my 6 year old Mobile Workstation, load fan, gets hung up on a lot of apps.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The laptop itself seem to be great. I currently have a Lenovo L512, which has been a workhorse until I had to upgrade from Window 7 Professional to Windows 10. I was looking to replace my trusty L512. I don't think the problem is ready Lenovo, but with Windows. I could not get Office downloaded despite having an installation key; kept going around in circles and down rabbit holes. I could not just plug in my external hard drives and DVD, like on my L512; as the USB ports are reduced in order to use a Thunderbolt, but instead have to install them as devices, then it would not read them. After two days of frustration I decided to return the P1. Like I said, I think the laptop itself was all right, but it has become much more complicated. It is not like I am stupid, but I don't need a lot of fancy stuff. I just want it to work. Is that too much to ask.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A few things that are semi annoying. 1) There is a flash or blink ever few minutes in the screen. I've looked for solutions, and I think I have reduced the incidents, but it still happens. 2) In comparions to *most * Keyboards, on the left, the lowest left hand key is the "Ctrl." Not so on my ThinkPad. I use Ctrl for a lot, so I have to remember to move slightly over. 3) No numeric keypad. Shame on me for not noticing. Numerics have to be entered from the keys on the top row. 2) and 3), I can adjust for. If I cannot resolve the flash/blink that would be a deal breaker. I haven't contacted Lenovo, but what I have read so far has me concerned.
I would recommend this to a friend!
