[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely won Christmas this year with the lego ferrari 488 GTE. The whole family, 5 yo, 11 yo and 15 yo all took turns working on it. It's the coolest lego set I've ever gotten. The pistons move, the suspension works and is an awesome size. I would absolutely recommend getting one of these especially if you like challenges because it definitely was!
I really enjoyed this build. The only 2 things I would recommend is it should’ve had a working transmission and the ride height needs to be lowered for a cleaner look. I modified it myself with the lower ride height.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Well this is definitely an awesome product was amazed when we saw it. Hubby and kidos are having a blast building it . Is a great fun experience to do as a family. Although it says 18 and up both my kidos are building along so is doable for all ages even my 5 year old is building along. Would recommend to family and friends.
I enjoy the challenge and patience stickers bring and this set brings it. Overall a pretty standard Technic build with a few new pieces and an assembly on the front end I’ve never done before. If having this for a display only, highly recommend lowering the suspension. Video online will show you how post build or if you want to while building, start at step 10. This is the rear end and you’ll put the shock in the 2nd to end spot and not the 3rd. For the front end, you’ll skip steps 96 and 97(100 and 101 opposite side) and on step 98 follow the video instructions or view my pic of where to put the pin assembly. Would also recommend swapping out any blue pins on the body for black. This was a fun build and ready to be added to the collection.
I like beautiful cars and Ferrari sure knows how to make some, so naturally I had to get this set upon release. This set took me a while to build because I had a lot of trouble pushing in the connector pieces which seemed to have ends that flared out too much, making it difficult. I'm not sure if this is the norm since this is my first Technic and I don't have experience with other Lego sets. If this is even possible, it would be nice if Lego printed the sponsorships on the plastic instead of giving us 57 stickers because my OCD kicked in and I was going crazy trying to place the stickers on as evenly as possible. I even brought out some forceps! The gap between the wheel and wheel arch in the rear is quite large for what's supposed to be a race car which honestly spoils the look of the completed product. Pleased with the product overall.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got the Lego Technic Ferrari for my son who is an avid Lego builder. He has always built sets that were above his age and this was no exception. The set is labeled for 18+ and if you are a casual Lego builder it will be a struggle. However, the end result is remarkable and will be a show piece my son keeps with him as he grows up. Keeping in mind my son is 10 this build took him close to three weeks, that included a lot of breaks and doing other things in between working on sections. I was suprised that there where only a few times that he got stuck needing help, mostly my job was putting on the stickers (which there are a lot of). The end result gives a display worthy Lego set that sits in a place of honor in my son's room. The only down side is now I am worried that he is going to want the real thing.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So, my entire family from my son to my partner are HUGE lego fans. My partners also a huge fast car fan, so when I got the chance to grab this, I jumped on it! It’s tricky - definitely don’t recommend it for young children, lots of small parts - but it’s a blast to put together and the way it all comes together and works is so cool. Definitely high quality and I recommend to any Ferrari and/or lego fan!
