AMAZING SET!

This set is AWESOME! I got this set for my son, Noah, and he loved it! This car has moving pistons, opening doors, turning front wheels for such a great price! It also has so much pieces, (830!) and looks great on a shelf! Buy before sold out!

I don't have too many technic sets but this one is a lot of fun to put together, couple of tricky steps but once they line up its cool.

Almost flawless

This is an amazing little car. It has over 800 pieces, the McLaren license, and is a foot long. it is also very authentic, with a working V8 (one-wheel drive, though), opening doors, an excellent and easy-to-use hand of god steering system, and more, all for only 50 dollars! It also incorporates a few advanced building techniques, and beats it's predecessor, the Corvette ZR1, by a mile. It's only major downside is the high sticker count, but that can be expected for a race car like this one.
Overall, it is very fun to play with, and it's detailed aesthetic and McLaren license make it a good display set as well. This small but cool McLaren is definitely worth every dollar of its price!

Innovate build but annoying processes
on December 29, 2023

Overall, I believe this set was an experience that I can benefit from, however, I wouldn’t recommend this set due to one piece that is prevalent throughout the building process. Part 6282140 is one of if not the most annoying things I have ever encountered in a LEGO set and I only managed to complete this set by using other extra parts to make it easier, or completely avoid the part all together. It doesn’t pop into place as easily as the rest of the technic pieces and frustratingly hurt my hands throughout the build. Maybe I received a bad batch of eggs but online, many others have expressed the same issues with this part, especially on step 94.
I am an avid LEGO fan but I’d expect better quality from such a large manufacturer, especially when such intricate pieces are involved

Highly impressive set!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 12 yr old has just put this amazing LEGO Technic McLaren Senna GTR together. The finished product looks exactly like it shows on the box and in the website! It's larger than we expected which was a pleasant surprise! This car is just slick looking and very detailed. Perhaps the feature that sets it apart from other sets is the pistons that move up and down as the car drives! Also the wheels can turn aided with the use of a knob of top of the car. The instructions were clear and precise. There was minor confusion putting it together, as there were multiple bags labeled for each of the steps. But he was able to figure it out easily. Overall it took about one and a half to two hours to build. He was blown away with the finish product! Absolutely recommend this!

Good build for beginners and experts
on March 18, 2021

This was my first technic build ever and I couldn’t wait to make my favorite car. The build was easy to understand with minimal problems building, the build was fun and challenging to keep me going on until the product was finished. Once it was finished I was surprised just how detailed and accurate this was to the actual car especially for the price (which is way cheaper than it should be) I really couldn’t complain at all. The build was fun and challenging but not too stressful and boring. I would recommend this build to beginners and experts of lego technic

The Next Level

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our biggest little Lego fan usually prefers the movie or other themed sets, but most of all, he loves to build sets that spark excitement and challenge. The building sets that interest him the most, he completes in one day, usually the same day he gets it. I feel the same way about a good book as he does his favorite Legos, he doesn't want to stop and put it down! He built this TECHNIC set one evening with lots of excitement and enthusiasm.
The LEGO Technic McLaren Senna GTR 42123 model building kit is packed with realistic details. This supercar toy model’s authentic features, like the detailed V8, had him running excitedly,to show us the moving pistons. Later, he was also enthusiastic about the dihedral doors that open ‘up and out' in the unmistakable style of the real McLaren. So many cool features like steering the McLaren toy car using the wheel on top. He did mention a few times that the build was hurting his fingers a bit, but said, "it's worth it"!
This 830 piece set would be a great gift for any motorsport, supercar, or Lego building fan.
We added a few more shelves above the Lego crafting table to display this completed remarkable car. The finished model measures over 3 in. (9 cm) high, 12 in. (32 cm) long and 4 in. (12 cm) wide.
This collectible McLaren toy car features eye-catching graphics and colors. I recommend it for any Lego fans, aged 10 and up, who are ready for a new challenge in advanced building toys.
