"Everybody can relax, I found the car."

I am an adult occasional collector of the more advanced Lego sets. I bought this for myself, to build during a COVID19 lockdown, for display purposes. I love the size, detail, and basic playability of the set. If you can find 4.5 to 5 inch tall figures, they should fit inside. Unfortunately, i don't think I've ever seen Ghostbuster figures in that size.
My two critiques of this set are that the front wheels don't turn side to side very much, making for a rather large turning circle. Also, I had some difficulty getting all the Technic pegs to insert smoothly.
Overall, I really enjoyed putting together the set. It took me about 10.5 hours, over 2 sittings, not including breaks.
By the way, the car seats 5. There are 2 seats up front, the pop-out jump seat, and 2 more seats in the rear.

Plenty of unique techniques for a great build

Great product

I loved watching ghostbusters growing up and always loved the car as well so when building this product I opted out on applying the rust stickers to keep it in more resemblance to the first movie I also made a slight modification under the hood a made a foldable rod out of LEGO’s to keep the hood open to display the engine

Revisiting Childhood

My 4 year old received some Lego City cars for his birthday and was more adept at following the instructions than I thought he would be at his age. So I went out to get a few more sets for him. I saw the Ecto 1 on the shelf and was feeling nostalgic and thought it would be cool to build something alongside him. It was a lot of fun and really gratifying. Lego sets have come so far since I was a kid. Now I’m hooked. I’m also really impressed by how expansive, educational, and supportive the Lego community is for kids and adults alike. I’ll remember this build as the one that re-sparked my interest in Lego and gave my son and I something to bond over.

On the fence then saw the movie preview

Big fan of the movies and when I saw the preview for the upcoming movie Ghostbusters: Afterlife I had to have it. This kit is based on the version of ECTO-1 from this new movie and is a barn find, dirty and kind of rusted out. Glad I got it, one of my more favorite builds so far and I was surprised at all the clever elements are included in this vehicle. The right rear tire when rotated drives the equipment on the roof rack. The new gunners chair works great and the door hinges on this one make sense and work without problems. I just love this one.

Nice but...

The ejector seat always seemed to tear the build apart. Stopped using it. I re built it 3 times but seems that it just doesn't work smoothly. Good set for on the shelf not for kid play
