Flimsy and frustrating to build

I didn't expect to be able to play with this when it was done, but I did expect it to sit on a shelf without parts randomly falling off: I'm looking at you, barrel headlights. My set was missing a large piece and the build itself was more frustrating than it was enjoyable for me. Too many stickers, and none of the door panels align quite right. It wasn't quite as fiddly as Barracuda Bay to put together, but it also looks worse when pieces fall off. Wouldn't buy again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

If your set ever seems like it's not very sturdy, the best thing to do is double-check your build. Sometimes there may be a piece just a little off from where it should be. You’ll also want to make sure that all the pieces are pressed tightly together. If you're still having trouble please get in touch with us at: LEGO.build/Service-BV so we can troubleshoot together.

Comes apart very easily

I built it 100% and it comes apart very easily. I opened the door and one piece came off. I had to take apart the door to put it back together. Then after that, I tried putting the door back on, the rest fell apart. Had to take every piece apart and am now having to redo the whole thing over.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Oh no! We're sorry you’re having some difficulty keeping the set together. We always test and retest our toys to make sure that they’ll hold up to play when they’re built exactly as shown in the instructions. If your set ever seems like it's not very sturdy, the best thing to do is double-check your build. Sometimes there may be a piece just a little off from where it should be. You’ll also want to make sure that all the pieces are pressed tightly together.

Not worth it

This is the worst Lego set my son has ever received. The design of the back half is garbage. It is so unstable, every new step you do the back falls apart. We did this as a family to help each other and it was the worst experience with a Lego set we’ve EVER had. I am so disappointed with this set I wish we could send it back. This was the only thing my son wanted for Christmas and he is so sad about it. Please redo the design to support the weight.

This is certainly not the building experience we want you to have as a family and especially not for your son! Annoying, painful build experience!

Absolutely the WORST building experience I’ve ever had. So many odd pieces, things don’t match or line up. Confusing pieces listed in the book. I want a refund!

Ive bought three of these sets so far, and have had a lot of fun building them. Of course only one is Ecto-1, the other two are heavily customized, and i plan to buy four or five more. Its really a great platform for customizing!

Everyone Can Relax I Found the Car…

How much, only 4800.
But in all seriousness, seeing the movie with my son, Afterlife that is and wanting to have a great memory of it, I set out to buy this set. So I sold a majority of my bobblehead collection and bought this the same day. It sat in my closet for almost 2 years because I had nowhere to display it.
Needless to say building this was a blast, I had the Ghostbusters soundtrack playing, doing Ghostbusters trivia with my son and laughing the whole time.
This build reawakened my love of Lego and I have started selling off the rest of my sports memorabilia collection to buy more sets.
I’m hoping to see more Ghostbusters sets in the future. Now to save up for the firehouse and the original Ecto-1. And maybe another one of these to make it look like the Ecto from GB2!

So awesome. I was worried this set was going to be harder to find and it was. Until somehow the gods at Lego managed to message me and said it’s back in stock. Ordered one immediately. First let me say this is a decently heavy build. I had to step in a few times with my older boys to help and it’s too complicated for the younger boy. Best thing was it was a team effort and we all had a part building it which makes it more fun. Such a great replica of the real thing too. Lego did amazing on this one. Highly recommend if your kids just got into the new Ghostbusters movies or if you want to feel the nostalgia of the old ones.
