So Much Fun

This set was just a blast to put together. I decided to build mine without the rust because it turns out I’m old now, and I just want the stuff from my childhood. Ahh, memories.
I found plenty of awesome details and hidden machinations throughout, fulfilling my need to be delighted like a child. And yes, I grinned like one the entire time.
My issue was with the very clever seat swinging spring loaded thingy. While an awesome design that worked very well, the door doesn’t want to stay closed. I will take a closer look when I rebuild it, and there’s definitely a chance it’s my fault.

I loved every minute building the set. I even watched Ghostbusters while doing it. The process from beginning to end was amazing and the final product looks amazing! I have it displayed in my home office next to the Lego Thor’s Hammer and can’t wait to start building my Delorean. This is a must have for any 80’s baby! Can’t wait to get more Lego sets because I am hooked.

It's way bigger than expected and it only took me 10 in a half hours not bad for a giant lego it's so cool and awsome plz buy it to see for yourself

Fantastic set, a great build and display piece

I bought this for a good friend who wanted to get into LEGO, and liked Ghostbusters. And she had a great time building it. It stands on display proudly.
The only thing keeping it from a 5/5 is that it could have really used a UCS style plaque and a couple of minifigs with it. Considering most other vehicles in this style get them (Batmobiles, Back to the future DeLorian, all Star Wars UCS sets etc.) But this isn't a fault in the set. Just a side effect of heightened expectations due to the excellent quality of other sets.
I would definitely recommend this to any Ghostbusters or LEGO fan

I just recently started building Lego sets. I was looking for a challenging build and I love the Ghostbusters so this was a perfect match . The build was so much fun and the product is amazing. The details of the engine and inside the vehicle to the gadgets all over the outside are incredible.

Words fail me

This is one of the most beautiful sets I've ever put together! So many little details that they could have easily just not bothered with, like a tiny gas pedal in the floor board, or the functional steering wheel. The "play" features are a bit finicky, but I plan on keeping this displayed on a shelf so that's not a huge issue. The entire time I was working on this build, I was just gobsmacked with how faithful the model's design is to the original vehicle. I opted to not apply the rust decals, and I think it makes the set look so much better.
If you or someone you love is a Ghostbusters fan, this set is a must own. Just make sure to make space for it, because this thing is a monster at 19" long.

I absolutely loved this Lego set! It was very fun to build and there wasn’t many tedious parts to it. Lego did a great job of making the ghost sniffer, gunner seat, and the trapdoor that the ghost trap comes out of. They work very well and are really cool. I would totally recommend the Ghostbusters ECTO-1 Lego set to anyone who is thinking about buying it.
