Far from LEGO's best.

I have bought a ton of LEGO Star Wars in my life. This was the first set where I felt totally compelled to modify the ship after it was built. The "chin" (cockpit) is just plain bad. There are huge gaps, and if you display it at eye level you can see right into the cockpit. No control panel for the pilot seems skimpy as well. There are several videos on YouTube where people provide modification tutorials, which itself is a testament that LEGO could have done a lot better (when random people can make design improvements without even adding parts). It took me about an hour and a half to "fix" the problems with this ship, and that just shouldn't be the case. It seems that with the Star Wars ships for this year, LEGO is making some very noticeable corner cuts which is a shame.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good for the price, but not the best for the price

This is a cool set, but it's not perfect. The shaping and color scheme is very consistent and works well. The playability is good and rather expected for a set like this. The access to interior sections is very easy, and works well. The value is pretty good. It is a fairly big ship with a good amount of interior space in it. Although it is a fair value, I do think the price is the biggest issue with this set. Because of the price, there had to be compromises on the build, and it results in areas looking anywhere from great to bad. The worst area is the underside of the cockpit, which is chunky due to the placement of stud shooters, and the structure used to keep the build up. Also with the way the windscreen is built, it feels like there is an unusually large gap between the back of it and the body of the shuttle. The minifigure selection is poor. Only 3 in a set like this just feels wrong, especially since they come in better or cheaper sets. Overall, there are plenty of good elements, but there are some major issues stemming from the low price. If you don't have a version of this vehicle, I'd get it for now, but if you do have other versions, it's better to skip this set.

Why so small?

Thank you LEGO for making another shuttle. I started collecting again in 2018 and it was awesome to not have to buy a retired set.
The fact is, this shuttle is too small. It’s hard to imagine a smaller shuttle without going all the way and making it into a micro fighter.
The imperial shuttle deserves more. It’s a staple ship in the Star Wars universe. I know it’s gotten more in the past, but this set cuts every stylistic corner possible. A few more pieces would have made a big difference.
Also, a storm trooper minifig or two would have been nice to include. I’ve been collecting for three years, bought over 20 Star Wars sets and I still don’t have just a regular storm trooper. It would have been nice to get one or two in this set.
I still bought this shuttle. A lot of people did. But, I would have paid more for more.

Unfortunately, not a fan of the down-sized vehicles. This version is very lacking compared to the last and pretty expensive for what you get. However, if you don’t have other or plan to mod it out it’s better than nothing.
I would just really like to have detailed vehicles with good display quality(i.e.appropriate landing gear, etc) and new figure assortments with functional play areas at an affordable price.
All this lesser stuff gives me the ‘you’re saving money and I’m paying for it’ feeling.

Missing bag?!?!?!?

Was very excited to pick up this build and when I opened it I realized bag number 5 was missing?!?!??! My brother bought this set twice and had the same problem so he didn’t get it and now it’s my first time this is happening. Its not like only one piece is missing so I’m not going to waste the time and go through the parts list one by one to figure out which parts are missing.

Solid, yet slightly over priced

Decent set, which has been getting an unnecessary amount of hate. If you do not have an imperial shuttle in your collection already, this is a good one to add. If you already have one, you are not missing out on much. solid ship yet slightly overpriced, comes with three detailed mini figures, a fun build, and a solid end product. Movable top fin that seats two min figures, and accessories, crisp wing movement, and functional pilot window. One large complaint is the main window does not fully encapsulate the pilot, however this can only be seen when looking up at certain directions. Not a must have, but a solid set nonetheless.
I would recommend this to a friend!
