Finally getting some sleep!

Thank you stellar product testing panel for sending me the mamaroo sleep bassinet to try out and review. As a new mom the hardest obstacle we have faced is getting our baby to sleep at night. The mamaroo sleep bassinet has given me back hours of sleep that I have been missing for quite some time prior to trying out this product. With 5 different motions plus a vibration setting and 4 different sounds to choose from, you are almost guaranteed to find a combination that will work for your baby. (My son prefers the following combo: car ride motion at 3rd speed level with fan sound feature at volume 2, and with vibration ON.) I personally appreciate the 4th sound which is the shushing sound that I often have to do during the day so it saves me the trouble and does it for me for naps and bedtimes. The vibration helps our baby relieve gas which often makes him very uncomfortable so he is able to drift back to sleep in between feedings. There is also a timer that can give you up to 4 hours of continuous motion. BUT HERE IS THE BEST PART........you can connect the bassinet to your cellphone through Bluetooth via an app! It has been a lifesaver when my 4 hour timer has run out and I need to reset it or when my baby just needs an adjustment to the motion or sound. I can do it all without having to get out of bed while still able to see my baby through the mesh siding of the bassinet. The mamaroo bassinet adheres to all infant safety guidelines and comes with a thin flat mattress pad that seems to be comfortable enough for our baby and I keep all diaper changing necessities in the attachable basket that goes under the bassinet (which I believe is sold separately). The only con that I have found is that it can be a bit bulky if you are super tight on space. Even so, I would personally use it anyway just from the benefits we have had from it.

The Cadillac of Bassinets!

This is one amazing bassinet. I will be honest, I was a bit skeptical that I would actually be needing any of the bells and whistles this product had to offer. With my first daughter, I had a simple and very basic bassinet and she was perfectly content with it and slept well. However, now with my newborn daughter, she loves and prefers to be rocked to sleep. So this bassinet has been a saving grace. Having the variety of motion options is wonderful and is quite helpful so my baby does not grow tired of the same movement (her favorite motions are the wave and car ride). There are times when she starts fussing in the middle of the night and once we turn the bassinet on, she calms down within a few moments and goes back to a sound sleep for the rest of the night! I will also say that one of my most favorite features of this bassinet is having the ability to control this bassinet from my phone; it is a game changer! The app was super user friendly and it was quite simple to make modifications to motion speeds and setting the timer for how long the product would remain on. The design of this bassinet is sleek and modern. All safe sleeping guidelines as recommended by our pediatrician have been met with this product. Having the mesh sides allow me sleep at ease, being that I don't have to worry about my baby's face pressing up against it and fearing that she could suffocate. It also allowed me to be able to just sit up in my bed and peek at her through the mesh sides to make sure she was okay. I can't rave enough about this product. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with the opportunity to try this 4mom Sleep bassinet. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! I will be sad when my daughter outgrows this bassinet...I wish her crib would have all these motion options (I wish my bed could do the same things too).

Great Swing Alternative

When I found out about the mamaRoo sleep, I was really fired up for this product. All my kids have enjoyed the mamaRoo, but it is not recommended to let infants sleep in them, which is a bummer because it generally put my kids right to sleep. The mamaRoo sleep provides a safe environment for your child to sleep and offers all the same(and more) features that makes the mamaRoo great. I felt a lot of comfort knowing could let my kids sleep for as long as the felt like sleeping in then mamaRoo sleep. My wife and I just had triplet girls and this was such a great product for two of my girls, one has no problem sleeping. The multiple rocking modes is great and being able to change speed and pattern via the app is awesome. The product itself looks really cool and the mesh sides makes checking in on your baby easy. The mesh sides really helps in the middle of the night when your half asleep. It would have been nice to incorporate a collapsible side to make getting a baby out of the mamaRoo sleep easier. It would have been especially helpful at night while your laying in bed and need to grab a baby. All in all this has been a great product and 4moms has delivered another hit. I received the mamaRoo sleep through the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

New bassinet with premium features

The new 4moms mamaRoo sleep bassinet provides a safe sleep environment with premium features for my six-week-old son. A firm flat mattress with an attractive water resistant cover is included and the bassinet sides are a breathable mesh allowing me to see my son sleeping. It was easy and quick to assemble out of the box. The premium features include five different motions with five speeds meant to mimic a parent rocking or bouncing their infant to sleep, a vibration option that can be on at the same time as the selected motion, and white noise. These can all be operated from the touch screen on the bassinet, but also from the 4moms app! I found this feature to be my favorite part of the bassinet. The motion has a maximum run time of 4 hours, but you can set a timer from the app as well as start and stop the motion as necessary without having to get out of bed. I really appreciated being able to increase the speed from my phone when he would get fussy. There is also an accessory basket that can be purchased that attaches underneath the bassinet, which I found useful for holding diapers, clothes, and extra swaddles.
While all of these features are great, my son did not seem to sleep any better (or worse) in the bassinet. I think that the motions and vibration, even at the highest speed, are a little too subtle for him and don’t really seem to soothe him much. I also thought that the sound from the motion of the bassinet moving was a little loud. Overall, the bassinet provides the most important thing, a safe sleep environment, and the premium features are a bonus but were not super effective with my son. As a part of the weeSpring Parent Panel, I appreciate being provided with this new bassinet and the opportunity to test and review the product.

Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this bassinet. My daughter loves it. I lay her in it and she will just smile and coo while it gently bounces and rocks her to sleep. It's helpful when she's being fussy as well. I love that it has mesh sides so I can keep an eye on her while I'm lying in bed. It has definitely helped both of us sleep longer and better. Her favorite setting is probably the tree swing at medium speed. She loves the vibration and the ocean sounds. The mattress is firm and flat, exactly as it should be for safe sleeping. The bassinet has a touchscreen control panel but I found myself using the app a lot, probably more than the touch panel. The layout of the app was easier for me to navigate when setting the timers and motions and speed. Assembly was super simple, no tools were needed and, after unpacking, it was all done and ready to go in about 10 minutes. The mattress is water resistant and the bassinet sheet can be washed in your washing machine. I absolutely recommend this mamaRoo Sleep Bassinet.

A magical sleep machine that's ACTUALLY safe

I usually don't opt for a lot of bells and whistles when it comes to baby equipment, but sleep is something that I, like most of humanity, enjoy quite a bit, and am therefor willing to invest in. When I realized that the automated child-rocking device that we had used with our first child was no longer an option, I was terrified; so I was thrilled to have the opportunity to try this product through the Stellar Product Testing Panel.
I'll start with the most important thing about the MamaRoo bassinet: It's SAFE sleep. Like, not just "sure-the-baby-will sleep-but-technically-you-have-to-supervise" sleep, it's SAFE-- your pediatrician will look at this flat surface and high breathable mesh surround and give you a pat on the back. It's just like a magical tiny crib that moves, so you can ACTUALLY LEAVE THE ROOM, maybe TAKE A SHOWER or SLEEP YOURSELF??? Yes, all of these things have occurred in my household as a result of this beautiful machine! And honestly, it is beautiful. We've been using it both in our bedroom and in our living room during the day, and it looks good anywhere you want to put it. Unlike most baby stuff, it's streamlined and neutral and not cutesy, which I absolutely love because it will last you YEARS and go with every nursery color and theme you could possibly think of: Woodland creatures! Outer space! Artisanal soft cheeses! Go nuts, folks. Not to mention, the mesh sides means it doesn't block light so it's GREAT for taking endless baby photos! Your instagram will totally love it!
It's not just aesthetically well-designed, though-- MamaRoo included a lot of really SMART, thoughtful details in this thing. Like, I love that the app exists, and it works, and it's actually very handy to have but ALSO?!? They figured out HOW TO MAKE THE CORD LOOK GOOD!?! THAT is the kind of thing that blows my mind. My husband also loved that it took literally five minutes to set up, and that includes getting it out of the cardboard box. It's very easy to move, and it has an awesome basket-shelf-thing underneath it, which is essential if you're like me and always need more surface area for multiple water bottles and snacks and pump parts and burp cloths and whatever toy my 3yo just hid down there, etc. Despite having been in my house for a month, (did I mention the 3yo?) absolutely everything about this bassinet just looks and feels high quality.
BUT! DOES IT MAKE THE BABY SLEEP? Short answer? Yes. Yes it does. Obviously there is nothing that will magically make a child sleep anytime you want them to, but if my kid was fed, clean, and within his normal sleep schedule, the motions and sounds of the bassinet did seem to help him get to sleep sooner, and with less, ahem, maternal intervention. When I set it, I usually opt for the "tree-swing" motion and "fan" sound, but occasionally my Extremely Helpful 3yo sets it, and he has found many successful combinations so I think it's pretty hard to go wrong.

My Baby is Sleeping! (and so is her brother)

We opened the front door one day and was super excited to see that the Stellar Product Testing Panel had sent us the mamaRoo sleep bassinet! With a 2 week old baby and an 18 month old that were making it extra difficult for us to sleep at night we were very very excited to try it out! My husband put it together in less than 5 minutes and registering the bassinet to the app was super fast - amazing! We tested it out that same night and wow did she sleep! She slept way better than she did in her other bed and we actually had to make this her new bed! Everything about this made our life easier; she slept and only woke up twice to eat and the best part was that when I had to tend to her big brother (who’s still breastfeeding) I could start the motion (rock-a-bye being her favorite) from my phone, from my bed without waking up her brother. I finally had a way to feed her brother and get her to fall asleep at the same time! The mattress is great for her, she’s comfortable and the mesh sides makes it comfortable for us too, we definitely follow safe sleep guidelines with this bassinet and I love being able to see her from bed without having to get up. We already have the mamaRoo infant seat and use that when we have dinner etc but this is next level! We didn’t even know we needed this in our life but it has definitely made it easier for us and more comfortable for our daughter. All of us (2 adults and 2 kids in the bedroom) are sleeping better because of it and we love everything about it!

Love this bassinet!

This bassinet is genius. First off I really love and appreciate the simplistic look. It would work with any decor and doesn't have any tacky colors or patterns. It follows safe sleep guidelines with the mesh sides and firm sleep surface. The adjustable height is nice to allow for easy access to baby next to the bed and the storage basket really comes in handy as a place to store extra diapers, etc. The sound function is a favorite. We found it so nice to have it built in and alleviate the need for a separate sound machine. As for the motion functions, it was great to have many options. We especially liked the vibrate feature as it did seem to soothe the baby. The other motions were nice too, we utilized these more during naps and typically stuck to car ride. I think it certainly elongated our daughter's sleep stretches. We found this product especially fitting for our needs as our baby tends to be gassy and prefers to lay flat and kick her legs. This bassinet allows for this while also offering vibration and movement. It also gave me peace of mind to let her nap in it versus other bouncers or swings which are not safe sleep approved. The app is also nice as it gives you the ability to set a timer and control the motions. Very clever. This happens to be our third and last baby but I certainly wish we would have had this product for our first two! It has proven to be a huge help. If I could create a wish list I would like to have a fitted sheet to protect the mattress but other than that, its perfect!
