The spaceship of bassinets

I was given this bassinet for free to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.
Before I received this bassinet to test, I used a bassinet from a different brand. I loved the mesh sides and firm pad on the old bassinet, for the safety they help provide. Though the sides were mesh on this one, the head and foot of the bassinet weren't. The old bassinet worked well for my first, and for the first few weeks after my second was born, but I was excited for the opportunity to try out the mamaRoo.
When I received the mamaRoo bassinet, the first thing I looked for were the safety features, and it delivers. The sides are mesh all the way around and the sleeping pad is flat and firm to help prevent SIDS.
Along with the safety features, the bassinet comes with the ability to have it rock and sway, which is very convenient for a fussy newborn. My son prefers the kangaroo and rock-a-bye motions on the lowest intensity. Anything higher than the lowest setting seems to startle him awake, so I either keep it slow or leave the motion off.
Though the motions helped him doze off few a times, my son is still getting used to them. While the features on the mamaRoo bassinet are very cool, I think my son sleeps only slightly better in this than in our old bassinet.
It was handy to have the app which can control the motion of the bassinet. I liked being able to turn it on without getting out of bed or leaning over. That being said, the app did seem to crash quite a bit and you have to be very close for the Bluetooth to connect.
One of my favorite features is the storage room underneath (though I think the basket is an additional accessory). It has been really nice to be able to hoard diapers underneath for future use.
There were 2 minor setbacks I did experience while using the bassinet.
First, is that the bassinet comes with extensions that can be used to make it taller, and when I tried to put them on, it seemed they came off very easily. Once I got all four leg extensions on, it seemed more stable, but I couldn't bring myself to use them. The bouncer is tall enough without the extensions that I was able to live with it.
Second, I noticed a high pitch whine whenever the bassinet is in motion. It didn't bug me too much, but it drove my wife insane.
Overall I think it's a very good bassinet and I intend to keep using it for my son. I would definitely recommend it to any parent who thinks the motion would benefit their little one.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Better sleep!

From the first use my son and I both had a better nights sleep! I slept better knowing my son was sleeping next to me in his own safe place while still room sharing. The mesh sides make it so easy for me to check on my son without needing to sit up and look over the sides of the bassinet. My son loves the soothing motions and sounds while I like that I can customize the exact motion and speed to suit his needs. The app makes changing motions and speeds even easier to select your settings and put them on a timer. All of the features have been thought out and executed very well, even the storage basket on the bottom which is very useful to store spare sheets and diapers. I get better sleep with this bassinet, not only because my son sleeps better in it but also because it’s safe and meets all of the recommendations to reduce SIDS. I received this product through the Stellar Product Testing Panel in return for my honest review.

Longer sleep stretches are ahead!

I was given this bassinet to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. It actually came at the perfect time, as my 8 week old preferred to sleep in our bed versus the playard we initially started to use. We obviously wanted to follow safe sleep guidelines, but we also have a 2 year old and we needed sleep! This bassinet was the answer to get her out of our bed and enable us to follow those safe sleep guidelines. The bassinet is pretty easy to put together. I would recommend plugging in the power cord on the bottom of the bassinet prior to turning it over - makes it easier to see what you're doing. It took my daughter a couple of nights to really get used to it. There are so many options to choose from: 6 motions, 5 speeds, and 4 sounds. My daughter prefers the Rock-A-Bye motion on the first speed, with no sound. The sounds were a little too loud for me, even on the first setting, and the motion of the bassinet has its own sound that seemed to work perfectly to get her (and me!) to sleep. The pad of the bassinet is an oval, which makes finding sheets hard. You can spot clean the cover on the mat, but I think a sheet would be a good extra layer of protection in case of a spit up. I'm sure 4moms will come out with something, it just wasn’t available at the time I tried the product. I also received the storage basket that goes under the bassinet. I would recommend purchasing that as well. It has come in handy to store extra diapers, wipes, and a spare outfit. I like the overall look of the bassinet. I have another brand that is bigger than this one, and the legs have a large footprint so we're constantly tripping over them. We don’t have that issue with this bassinet. It’s a pretty sleek, modern looking design. The mesh sides are easy to see through, so my daughter and I can see each other without any issue. The only small “complaint” I have is that I wish it had built in handles to make it easier if you need to move it. It’s not a big deal, just a side note. There is also an accompanying app, which has been great. I can set my daughter in the bassinet, get into my own bed, and then start (or change) the motion from the app. You can set a timer from the app as well, and it will shut off in the specified amount of time, up to 4 hours. For us, 30 minutes is sufficient. I will say though, that after the 30 minutes is up, it does take a couple of minutes for the bassinet to completely shut down - so even though the motion has stopped, you will still hear the motor from it for like 2 minutes, which threw me off in the beginning. This was the first 4moms product I’ve ever used, and I was definitely pleasantly surprised, and so thankful to get some longer stretches of sleep at night!

Great Bassinet, Longer Sleep

We really like 4Moms to begin with. We've been using the Mamaroo, Breeze Play yard, and baby bathtub since our son was born, and the products are really high quality, so we were super excited to be able to test their new bassinet as part of the Stellar Product Testing panel. After about 2 weeks, I can say that overall we are really happy with it!
A note: This is a "smart" bassinet with App control, but it's not a responsive product, meaning that it won't react to your baby's fussiness--that's your job. You can adjust the settings on the app, or on the bassinet itself. This is fine for us, but it's worth noting.
Our Story: We originally hadn't planned on getting a bassinet at all, because so many of our friends told us that they had their children sleep in the bassinet attachment of a pack and play. It turns out E didn't love sleeping in it, and he's such an active sleeper that he ended up moving all around and waking himself up. During the day though, E would really love being in his Mamaroo! He'd nap happily in that, and we found ourselves wishing we could let him sleep in it (don't worry, we didn't).
But when the chance to test the bassinet came along, we were thrilled! The bassinet has all the features of the mamaroo in terms of the motions, with added vibration and a safe sleep surface, which was really important to us. We also liked being able to see him sleeping because of the adjustable height and mesh sides. So here's the nitty gritty--
Pros: *He already liked the mamaroo, so the transition to the bassinet was easy and simple. *The app is really easy to use, and we were able to avoid some full wake-ups by using the app to adjust the speed and noise of the bassinet from bed. We always started with the lowest setting and adjusted up if he was getting fussy. Most of the time, we use the first 3 settings without escalating too much. The highest settings are pretty fast and loud, which honestly woke us up a little bit (even though he liked it). *He definitely slept longer and fell asleep faster with the motion. We particularly like the car ride and kangaroo, and have found the "SHHH" noise helpful for calming mild fussiness (for most nights, we use the rain noise on the lightest setting). *It's lightweight enough to move around without too much trouble. We've put the bassinet on both sides of our bed and in the living room for naps on occasion.
Cons: *The vibration setting that you can use with the other motions is really unnoticeable, but somehow makes the bassinet louder? We ended up just never really using it, even though we were really excited about it. *The 4 hour time limit has been a bit annoying, though not a deal breaker. Sometimes when E is fussy, we want the bassinet to run basically all night, and you have to wake up to restart it. *On the few nights when E has been SUPER fussy, the bassinet didn't magically fix it. We didn't expect it to, but it's just good to make sure your expectations are reasonable. I think this works best for mild fussiness and calm, sleepy babies who normally need a little extra care for sleeping.
Ultimately, it's hard to say if this is a good solution for babies who need a lot of extra sleep help. Our baby is a reasonably good sleeper (at 7 weeks, he sleeps 5-6 hours at a stretch), and can fall asleep on his own without props. This bassinet is an extra bonus for getting him to sleep quickly, and having him sleep longer and more calmly. For us, that makes it worth it absolutely, and we think it would be worth the price. And we are "brand loyalty" people--once we find a quality brand we like to stick with it, and 4Moms has been consistently great with everything we have!

Best Bassinet Ever

I am in love with my mama roo bassinet! My baby has been sleeping in it since day one and it helps that he’s taken to it so well. It gives my arms a break and him some soothing. Also, the app is pretty amazing. I love being able to start and stop the bassinet from my phone.
His favorite settings are kangaroo and car ride at speed 4 and 5. Kangaroo is an amazing setting, it feels like when I was in labor and bouncing on the labor ball. I still do that to calm him and I can finally soothe him with physically exhausting myself.
I love that I have a firm sleeping surface, the nice height, and mesh sides for visibility and airflow. The height is just right. I’m 5’7 and bending over is a pain after having a baby. With the tall height, it’s easy for me to lift out the baby without straining my back. Not to mention, he’s high enough to be away from his toddler sisters.
I received this bassinet right on time from the Stellar Product Testing Panel. It came the day I came home from the hospital.

The bassinet is situated right next to our bed and each night we use the fan sound along with the car motion setting to get our little guy to sleep. We get multiple hour stretches and only waking up to eat and for diaper changes before we set him back down in the bassinet to snooze for a few more hours.
If there was something that I think could be improved with this product it would be the addition of the heartbeat sound that is standard on the mamaRoo infant seat.
We are getting so much more sleep then we did with our first kiddo and I have to think it has a lot to do with this wonderful product. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this bassinet and the accompanying extra hours of sleep!

We are all sleeping well!

A couple days after we got home from the hospital after having our little one, I got an email that we would be receiving the Mamaroo Sleep bassinet from Stellar Product Testing Panel to test and review. As a very sleep deprived mom of now 2, I could not wait for it to arrive, and it did not disappoint! I am absolutely amazed at how this bassinet just rocks my little one right to sleep, even when I lay him down wide-awake. We have found that the “wave” setting on the slowest speed is his kryptonite! This gets him right to sleep every time. I also love that the bassinet meets all the requirements for safe sleep and has see-through mesh sides so that I know my little one is safe and I can easily see him. After laying him down I like to use the app to set the timer for 30 minutes so that after he goes to sleep it will stop. The app is also nice for those times when he wakes up, I can turn on the bassinet again without getting out of bed. Total win! I also love how easily the waterproof sheet can be removed and thrown in the washer. The removable storage bin has come in so handy for keeping his blankets and swaddles close by. The only downside to this bassinet is that it makes a very faint sound while running. The first couple of nights I had to adjust to the sound, but after that I became accustomed to it and no longer bothers me. I want to give a huge thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this bassinet, and therefore, more sleep! @4moms_hq, #mamaRoosleep, #weespringparentpanel, #stellarreviews

I received this product to review through the stellar product testing panel. My first baby did not sleep well and I spent a lot of time rocking him to sleep. I was looking for a product that would help me get a little more sleep with my second baby! First, there was minimal assembly to this product. It was super easy less than 5 minutes. The look is clean, white and sleek with push button controls and mesh that allows you to see into the bassinet. It comes with a firm mattress and fitted sheet. Perfect for safe sleep practices. This product has several different motions and speeds to choose from so there is sure to be at least one (probably more) that your baby will enjoy. The app was great to adjust settings from bed to try to soothe baby without getting up! This was my favorite part of the bassinet and it definitely helped me get more sleep.
