High pitch squeal sound

When I turn on the motions for the bassinet it makes a really high pitch squealing sound. Sometimes the vibration won’t work and I’ll have to trouble shoot it. Do not recommend

First time parents (we bought it ourselves)

We did not receive this as a paid item, I’m shocked at the bad reviews because it is by far the best item we purchased for our baby girl. She is 10 weeks and has slept in it since coming home from a c section birth.
I am writing this review to help any parent to be who is questioning whether to give this bassinet a chance, as I was when I purchased it without any reviews posted. I paid fully out of pocket for this item except for a store coupon from my baby registry.
Pros
-The motions are very helpful in soothing our baby and the white noise and shhh have been amazing thus far. Just this week we started using the ocean noise and she seems to enjoy it paired with the “car ride” setting on the third speed.

-I was very worried about purchasing a safe bassinet for long sleeping sessions and the mesh on this is amazing. We have already found our baby pressed against it a few times as she is growing extremely strong and thankfully she’s been fine each time (It’s definitely scary to see though). She is also quite heavy and if she kicks hard enough the bassinet will stop the motion which lets me know the sensors are great for safety.
-The app is very helpful when we wake up to a fussy baby and want to help her self-soothe in the middle of the night. I’ll usually turn up the speed of the motion and put on a soothing sound and it helps her fussiness decrease and she will fall asleep. We usually have the white noise on while she sleeps because we live in a noisy apartment.
-it’s aesthetic pleasing, the color is very neutral which is exactly what I was looking for, it’s not a stark white, but more of a cool tone cream.
-overall size of the bassinet is decent and it fits in front of the crib in our combined bedroom/nursery. We will store it in a few weeks when we transition to the crib.
-extremely easy to clean all areas, including the mesh, control buttons and mattress pad.
Cons:
-vibration setting is quite loud/strong, I find it disruptive as we live in an apartment 3rd floor. My baby also does not seem to like it, even though she likes the milder rock and play vibration settings.
- The sheets are very expensive, you need a few because blowouts and accidents happen and it adds up. We got 2 additional sheets and used her hospital swaddles to wrap the mattress pad (in the beginning when she had a lot of accidents) and that helped.
-the basket should come included with the bassinet for the price we paid! $30 for it plus additional sheets starts to add up a LOT
-the app has an annoying feature, it shows you all of the 4moms products and you have to click into the bassinet to control the settings. We don’t own any other 4moms products so this is an additional annoyance every time we want to re-open the app.
-the mattress pad seems quite thin but I like that it’s covered in plastic and can be wiped down easily. It could fit a big more snug but we have not had issues with it, not a significant enough gap to be concerned.
-I would have liked some type of storage bag/cover for the bassinet. We are going to transition baby to a crib soon and will be storing this bassinet, would be great to have a cover designed for it to keep the dust off of it until the next time we need it.
-the should be a button to control the bassinet height instead of having to adjust it manually (this would help a c-section mom like myself a lot!)
-the size of the bassinet can be outgrown quite fast, my baby was born 21.5in long and she’s already close to her feet touching the mesh when fully extended, this will shorten the time we can use it as I do not want her legs to be cramped.
My final say: I would definitely repurchase/recommend this bassinet as it’s extremely useful and has been safe for our babygirl.

DO NOT BUY!

We were given this bassinet as a gift for our second son as there were great reviews of the product and we were impressed by the model that we were shown at Buy, Buy, Baby. Oh how deceptive things were. We had the bassinet for approximately a month before it stopped working. One morning, I was near the bassinet and heard a loud noise almost like a vacuum was being ran. My husband figured out that it was the bassinet making the noise. When he went to try the bassinet, it wouldn't power on at all, but yet, the fan was still running. We tried the classic unplugging it and plugging it back in and got crickets. He contacted customer service and a new unit was sent to us. We received the new unit today (11/30) and guess what - THE NEW UNIT IS DEFECTIVE AND DOESN'T WORK! I'm severely disappointed in 4Moms as it's quite evident from other reviews as well as in our own experience that 4Moms doesn't care about the quality or craftmanship of their products. Now, I have to figure out how to help the people that gifted us the bassinet how to get their money back. Thanks for nothing, 4Moms.

Keeps turning off on its osn

Dont waste your money on this product. First night we used it the bassinet turns off on its own after 10 min or so and you have to unplug it and plug back in to work. Rip off

High failure rate!

Started so great then a TOTAL waste of money

Loved this bassinet for 5 months with my son then all of the sudden it stopped working. It starts to move then stops and the screen blinks. I actually had to take it apart and clean the sensors which didn’t do anything for it. I also put white paint on the white parts of the wheel for the belt. Again nothing. I’m so upset I was really hoping to use this almost 500 dollar bassinet for all of my kids.

A little too much machine

Our baby is four weeks old, and we’re still trying to find the right combination of sleep aids - and it seems she’s still unsure what she wants! This bassinet was a welcome variable to these experiments when we as parents have exhausted all our human variations of Dr. Karp’s 5 S’s. Our baby wasn’t easily soothed by the bassinet, instead needing to be soothed almost to sleep before being put down, but the bassinet definitely keeps her peaceful for short naps. She likes best the car motion with the ocean sound, but the vibration mode is key. Adjustable leg lengths and a storage basket are helpful features, especially for a piece that is otherwise way too large for our small bedroom.
What really disappoints about this product are its more mechanical aspects. We couldn’t put our baby in without starting it in advance, or the sudden jolt of the motor would startle her (this is where the remote app control comes most in handy, enabling me to warm it up from another room or while nursing). The bassinet also has a constant high-pitched mechanical whine when running, and if it’s been on for some time the motor can take up to five minutes to power down, even if the functions are all off.
I was lucky enough to be able to test the Mamaroo Sleep Bassinet through the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

Beautiful design, cheap mattress insert

The look and structure of this bassinet is flawless. You basically won’t find a better looking, modern bassinet anywhere else. It’s easy to set up and use, and I’d recommend getting the basket also to store things baby or mom will need throughout the night. The whole point is to have baby sleep well though, and for our situation that’s where this bassinet falls short. Our little one will sleep as long as he’s swaddled in here, but he gets a little uncomfortable since the pad is not soft. I’d compare it to a plastic seat cushion. This was a strange choice for such a beautiful product.. as a result of this choice, our little one wakes up more easily as a result of sounds, etc. I’d recommend 4moms release a memory foam insert instead even if for an additional cost. It would be well worth the expense. More importantly it will match the craftsmanship of the bassinet overall.
