Turbo Tax is Great - As Usual!

This is probably our 10th year or more using Turbo Tax. It is very easy and they are very helpful. We appreciate it and having the download available with the CD is a real plus.

I've been using TT for 15 years and despite other apps for taxes, I stick with a tried and true product. I also like that it pulls forward my data from previous years to prevent me from having to reenter stable data year after year.

Great, but tax prep is always stressful

Difficult as taxes are the process was pretty easy to complete. I did have a problem. During the entry of one of my retirement account entries of a 1099R I made a typo of he withheld tax. The amount entered was $5800.00 vs. my entry of $58000. As the entire process was completed over three days. I continued to see a return of $45K. As I finished day two I went to bed concerned that there was a problem. In my review I discovered the error and thought it would have been less stressful had the program recognized the fact that the amount entered to tax withdrawn exceeded the income amount. Likewise, the [program could look at that entry should it exceed 50% of the recorded income. This could be a warning that the amount entered exceeded 50% of the entered come, with a popup that reads: "You may want to verify you entry".

horrible download this year

Was stuck in a loop download while trying to update state. First year i have had problems with this. Otherwise i loved using turbo tax in prior years.

After so many years, still slow

It's barely OK. Get the job done, but I don't see any improvement over the years. It looks and works the same, always slow, especially when starting up. Have to go through that "... I know it is taking a little longer..." non-sense. It is no longer funny after so many years. Have to be more intelligent in checking and updating.

Tax-wise, excellent. User experience, not so much

TurboTax is good at what it does. But that doesn't mean it can't look good in the process! The copy is mediocre and inconsistent. The whitespace if overwhelming and detracts from the overall experience. Perhaps consult a professional to add some consistency and flair. Let's make tax fun!!! Or at least try.
