Over Priced

Way over priced, takes way too long. It's ridiculous to have to download something on your personal pc that is useless the next year. It knew nothing about me and everything had to be manually entered. I could have, and should have, done it faster myself. I will next year. Using TurboTax is why I hate, and put off doing my taxes every year. Now you want me to waste more time on the below obnoxious questions.

TurboTax messed up state return resulting in fines

I am an overseas citizen with income property in CA. When I got to state taxes in the 2018 TurboTax questionnaire, it told me that, since I was a resident of a foreign country I didn't need to file a CA state return. I now have received a letter from the state of California saying I owe $10,968.53 in tax, penalties and interest for 2018! I've now tricked the 2018 TurboTax program into generating a 2018 state return, since the questionnaire wouldn't let me even start a CA state return when I filed in April 2019. Hopefully, I can get this straightened out quickly and won't have to pay too much in penalties and interest. Moral to the story - know the tax code and don't trust TurboTax to know what you need to do!

I am very pleased with Turbo Tax Deluxe. It is definitely worth the money. I especially like how thorough the questions are. It gave me a good sense of security that my return was being processed correctly.

TurboTax usage

I only use TurboTax as my only source of filling my taxes! It is very expensive because we have to pay extra to add a state? Like what? I worked in two different states not 5... Additionally, I had to pay another $80 to even start my tax refund. I just find it pricey and not as user friendly as I expect.
