A Long-Time User, Disappointed

I purchased the earliest version of TT2020 @ $70 to help me estimate my taxes if I did a Roth Conversion. TT was totally USELESS in this regard. When I would work on the IRA section it kept telling me "The IRS has not released the forms yet" or something to that effect and blocked me from doing the what-if scenarios I purchased the early version for. It could have easily used last years forms (with an advisement that it was preliminary). I cannot overstate how disappointed I was, as it forced me to essentially guess what my 2020 tax burden would be.

First year with problem in many years.

Myself and significant other have been using turbo tax for many years and this is the first year we have had a problem. She uses a Mac and I a PC. No cd rom on hers, no problem last year, just downloaded. This year was changed and could not download and activate? Not sure why they changed but was told we have to both either use cd, or download? Still not sure if it has been taken care of yet, but still trying?

TurboTax Import Features Made Return Easy

My tax return had to account for items associated with my deceased brother's estate. TurboTax was immensely helpful in this process. Also had some complex IRA distributions (multiple stock/bond sales) and I was able to import all of them into TurboTax without having to type them in separately. Very happy and looking forward to quick refund.

Ease of Use

I have been using TurboTax for years, but my taxes are pretty straightforward (no business, one W-2, no investments) and the same from year to year. This was the first year I filed as a retired person and I was a little nervous, but again, my life is pretty straightforward and I didn't have any problems filing again using TurboTax. One idea I keep suggesting but I haven't found an answer to it yet is "how do I alphabetize my list of charities?" They are in the order that I added them, which makes it hard to organize my papers/receipts. Also, I wish they didn't delete the charities I didn't contribute to in a given year; maybe I just missed and year and will contribute the following year! I wish there were "Non-Use for this year" and "Permanent Delete" options for the charities.
