A bit more difficult this year...

Need to re-examine the "auto" version of your data collection. I missed an important item for my state taxes and had to go back and enter the info. Was concerned that I might have issues with my Fed tax -- already filed... Lucked out.

TurboTax is awful this year

I have repeatedly used TurboTax for more years than I can remember and this is my first experience with such an awful release. The product is definitely not ready for use... Specifically: There is no way of saving a return until the return has been fully completed! I am using a Mac and all menu functions are grayed until the return is completed and ready for filing! In addition, when I attempted to sign in to my TurboTax account I was completely unsuccessful, caught up in a programming "do-loop" with absolutely no means of exiting! I have had the same account for many years and, although I realize the security implications, have retained the same password. This year it refused to allow me to log in - yes the correct password was entered precisely! There is no password reset capability and when attempted, one is once again caught up in a "do-loop". In addition, although I use English as my preferred language, the auto type function chooses auto fill in French! Though I no longer program and am sadly out of touch with the field, I honestly believe I could do better or at least as well. It appears that this program was never tested....by programmers OR users!

I have use TurboTax since before it was "turbotax" I believe I used an original(?) version on my Commodore computer in the early 1980s. It has always been quite a pleasant exercise. The current iteration is extremely intuitive and easy to use. When I needed telephone support last year that was easily accessed and EXTREMELY helpful. TurboTax is a wonderful product for me to be sure.
