Turbo Tax is Pretty Good

Getting rid of a subscription and doing online is confusing though. It doesn't check by login that you already have a paid subscription and then charges you again for the same software if you need something more than basic.

Unclear communication; inaccurate results

Some of the communication, particularly when it comes to interest on a mortgage when you have (at some point in the DNA of successive loans) pulled out cash for non-home use, is unclear. I wasted time trying to make sense of that.
The program also kept telling me that I was due more federal stimulus than I had received, so I verified independently that no, in fact I had received exactly what I was supposed to. Fortunately the forms did not have me taking a credit I wasn't entitled to, but the interview part of TT was just dead wrong. Again, more wasted time.
More worrisome, my answers in the interview didn't always seem to be reflected in the forms. Though we paid mortgage interest, that amount showed as zero in the forms. This didn't affect my federal return, because we took the standard deduction, but it caused my state refund to be lowered by $400. Only after I had filed my state return did I dig back in to see why our state taxable income was so much higher than our federal, and then had to immediately file, on paper, an amended state return, which was not fun.
All told, I would probably have been better off doing my taxes manually and saving the money. I'm pretty certain I'm done with this product.

Never again!

I paid $80 to complete my 2019 taxes and I had to start all over again. There should be an easier way!!! Especially when I have filed with Turbotax for the last 4 years.

confusing wordage for billing state tax

When I got to paying for the state tax, it said $20.00. It asked if I had paid for it already. ???? When I finally got to credit card info it said $25.00. Also, when I tried to change my password it kept returning me to the page that said something didn't work and try later. ????
