Royalties complicate return

For the first time I have author royalties to account for and I felt that turbo tax did a poor job of explaining things. I had to go to the IRS for explanations.

walked me through everything, didnt know about new NEC 1099 form. still don't understand why it thinks a royalty from oil lease is a business. but I was informed what to fill out, .I'm 82 and husband is 85 so guidance was very helpful.
