Great Tax Software

I have been using Turbotax since the mid 90's. Turbotax takes the pain out of preparing and filing taxes. I will continue to use Turbotax.

Problem with Turbo Tax Software

NYS did not initially accept my electronic submission of state income tax because of a software problem with Turbo Tax. Had to do it again due to the software problem.

What happened this year?????????

Over the last 5 years, TurboTax has been phenomenal. This year there are so many glitches and my returns are being rejected for software errors.

Too many rough spots

Error checks turn up frequent items that need boxes checked or entry carried over from another place. This stuff ought to have been part of hte interview or copied as appropriate.
Filing this year was a mess: state return (CA) was rejected for no obvious reason and Intuit's explanation did not make sense. I resubmitted the _same_ return and it was accepted. No doubt Intuit and CA's Tax agency will point fingers at each other but at the end of the day we're counting on Intuit to make this smooth.
Overall summary: too many rough spots. Intuit needs to put more effort into cleaning this product up.
