TurboTax takes the headache out of filing taxes

TurboTax easy to use tax knowledge system works great. We have used this product for years and wouldn't consider any other method. The system leads you through the income and deduction process with easy to understand questions to help you efficiently enter your data and determine your yearly tax requirements.

TurboTax is Sooooooo Easy to Use

I used the TurboTax Deluxe version on a CD. It automatically asked me if I wanted updated Fed and State Files downloaded rather than my forgetting to do so. Once I began using TurboTax, I found that it continues to be very comprehensive in terms of asking questions on all important tax questions and likewise easy to use. I have been using TurboTax since the 1990's and will use no other tax software because of the outstanding performance and results that I have gotten from using TurboTax.

2020 Tax filing

The process for my Minnesota Tax return was easy and complete. The only thing that needs to be corrected is I wanted to have my refund directly deposited into my bank account as I did for my federal return, unfortunately Turbo Tax defaulted my Minnesota return to a refund check, I had to go into my forms tab and bring up my information worksheet to change that option to a direct deposit and then enter in the same information on my federal return. This option for a refund should be part of my filing process rather than something I had to did out. So I would add this step to the normal filing process as a question "do you want to receive your refund by check or direct deposit".

Love it, except for 1thing.

The 1 thing that would make this a seamless experience would be to inform us that it's going to cost us extra to file electronically with the state, a lot earlier. Instead of springing it on us at the last minute. Otherwise, love it.

Hidden Charges and Errors

This may be my last year using TurboTax. The "Deluxe" product I bought was to include Federal Returns and one State return. I subsequently learned from the fine print that I could only print out the State return. If I wanted to e-file it, I had to pay an additional $20. The instructions are not always clear and regarding RMD, it was in error. It spoke of age 701/2 and made no mention of age 72 which I fall under.
