TurboTax makes it easy

I've always liked the personal question method Turbo Tax uses, it makes it easy to file and not miss deductions or incomes. I've been a loyal user for many many years. Now that my life and tax situation is simpler it seems a bit expensive. I file in 2 states though and it only takes a couple of hours to do it all.

Had a return that involved two states and turbo tax didn't seem to be able to handle it. Had to contact one of the states directly to identify a check box that needed to be filled to properly complete the form. If i hadn't several hundred dollars would be lost to overpay in a specific state. Also the charge to efile was a extreme and a surprise.

Big problem with state tax form

I receive a pension from New York State. I am excluded from paying state taxes. I never had a problem when using Turbo Tax but this year it messed up the state income tax big time. It showed I had to pay over eight hundred dollars. I friend told me to go to the worksheet and x the box stating it was excluded. Thanks to her I got through it. Not sure if I will chance Turbo Tax next year
