Great but has bugs

Did not populate my loss carryover from the prior year on my rental property and did not populate a capital loss carryover from last year's federal to state. Not acceptable. I buy the program so I don't have to ask a tax person these questions! A big flaw in my opinion.

Final Steps are not well supported
on October 16, 2021

TT2020 was the easiest to use version so far. The "hints" (".... don't enter it here; it will be addressed later on" etc.) were a big stress reducer. However, the final steps of saving and printing are poorly supported. Saving the return as a *.pdf is fine but not having the option to specify were it would be saved or even telling me where it would be saved. One with lessor familiarity with Windows Explorer would have a hard time with this. It was also difficult to distinguish the file names of the filing copy and the retention copy. THERE SHOULD BE BUILT-IN UTILITY TO MAKE BACKUP COPIES OF BOTH THE tt-data AND THE returns TO A USB DRIVE OR CD - an AIR-GAPPED BACKUP IS ESSENTIAL THESE DAYS! I was VERY disappointed when TT did not import information for my rental properties from MY 2019 return. I cannot help but think you removed this functionality when I declined the in-app $30 offer to update from Basic to Premier.

E=File

Both returns were repeatedly rejected. Finally got Federal return accepted by entering -0- in Spouse's AGI (which is incorrect). Could not fix state return. Rejected because it could not match spouse's SSN to prior year EVEN THOUGH IT WAS CORRECT. Had to mail it and now I need to figure out to get a refund for the State e-file. Not happy.

TurboTax Hard to Use for 2020 Tax
on October 18, 2021
Posted by: Not Proud TurboTax User
An example of my disgust with TurboTax 2020 is that when I tried to use e-file for federal and state filing (following the directions, of course), both returns were rejected. The rejection notification from Turbo Tax gave instructions of how to find out the problem(s) by saying to sign into T-Tax again and an explaation of the problems would be the first thing that came up on-screen. That screen never appeared and no matter what I could not find any explanation of the returns' problems. Finally just filed by snail mail. I'm sure I'll here from the IRS now. Thanks a lot.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

USE A BIGGER FONT !!!
on October 18, 2021

Instructions were generally easy to understand - BUT THEY ARE WAY TOO TINY. I have excellent vision for close material ,but I found your font ridiculously small, and my MacBook Pro wouldn't enlarge it. Many pages were 75% blank, so there was plenty of room for a bigger font. Also when I clicked for help or more explanation, it was not always easy to get back to the place I was working on in the return.
