lots of bugs; cumbersome 4 internationals w f2555

Since more then 10 years I use Turbotax. I am a resident alien who has to file his taxes in Germany and in the US. So my forms include 1040, 8949, 1116, 1116 passive, 2555, 8938 and 8960. First thing is I have to enter my German income 3 times: on F1040 wks Schedule 1 P1L8 L22, AND in F1116 comp wks P1ga, AND in F2555-T line 19. Why can't you populate those automatically? Then in F2555 most entries are not carried over from year to year, so each year I need to check PI-C, update or reenter PI-9 and PII-10 begin and end "continues", and then reenter all answers for PII-11 through 15d. Also F2555 L28 1a need to reenter each year "Germany all other", etc. etc. Why can't you carry those over. If I forget an entry I get an error, very combersome, I had to make my "entry checklist" so be able to do this. So really cumbersome. Also the software only works if and when the laptop or PC is set to "region United states" and "language english", so my keyboard has y and z switched plus all special characters are elsewhere. Why can't you accpet $123,45 if I have my laptop set to German? It only works if I enter $123.45 AND have all region, language and data settings switched to the US, which of course means nothing else works, like no bank passwords are accepted etc. What a pain and what a poor software design. This year there where a couple of extra bugs: This year the software opens each time at 980% zoom rate, so I need to klick that "smaller button" umpteen times until its back down to 100%. What the heck? Then this year my return was just rejected twice for errors in your software!! First the error check says "all ok", then it's rejected because all of a sudden the whole form F1116 "passive category" incl. worksheets is missing, despite the fact that it was there 10sec. earlier when I printed it all. So I had to enter ALL informations regarding all the captal gains taxes paid and accrued in Germany onto that form again. So I do all this, again no errors, file again, and again rejected. This time because the charitable contributions all had no value in it; I stopped filling those in 5 years ago because they wont lead to an increase in the standard deduction. So far never a problem, your error checker gives not problem, but then after I checked the e-file status all of a sudden your software says "update", so I delieted all those forms... Now I am still waiting for the result, hope it is accepted now, running out of time... Hope you can fix those bugs.

Filing for my daughter and had an issue getting past the healthcare 1095-A questions. Daughter is filing single but covered under my Tricare health coverage, with no cost to her. Gerald understood and quickly removed the default entry that caused the initial issue. Assisted in my review for other possible questions, including the state review. Fast, professional, and thorough, thanks for the assist!

AGI Pin

The AGI Pin does not work - it was asking for my husband and I's AGI in separate screens, even though we filed together in 2019, and used Turbo Tax. I pulled my transcripts directly from the IRS to confirm the AGI number was correct. I tried submitting with the AGI under both my husband and I - rejected. I tried it under just the primary - rejected. I am not happy, as I paid turbo-tax to file my state return electronically and now I have to file by mail.

TurboTax Buggy this year!

The tax part worked fine. But, I had trouble with activating the software after I installed it, and could not pay the $25 fee for the state filing of my taxes. I tried all the suggestions on the help boards, and finally gave up! A real disappointment this year!

TT is probably the best program you will find, as I have been using it since 2008 and obviously have been satisfied with it for 13 years. Your phone Agents are absolutely the greatest part of TT. The Community is also very responsive and helpful. Some of the features can be confusing at times, but are easily explained with a call to a live Agent.
