TurboTax still doesn't do it quite right

even though my finances are more simple now, it's still not as easy as it should be to fill out the torms. For example, to file my TurboTax state tax form (IL), I am asked for the separate incomes from myself and my husband. BUT—not only does the actual state version of the 1040 no longer separate the two incomes, but TurboTax has my records of the previous year and should be able to fill this in by itself, which it doesn't.

Turbotax is the best hands down

I've been using Turbotax since last century. The are accurate and very thorough. I never see doing my taxes any other way. Keep up the great work.

Does Intuit do user experience testing?

1. It's hard to navigate. If you go back to check a section, it asks you the same intro questions again. No, for the third time, I was not in a natural disaster! If you don't e-file right away, it takes many screens to get back to the e-file page. To enter donations, it defaults to a random listing from last year, and I have to click to sort alphabetically EVERY SINGLE ENTRY. Shouldn't alphabetical be the default? 2. It is ambiguous. It asked if I mailed my state tax extension. I filed the extension online, so do I answer yes or no? 3. It wastes my time asking info it already knows. E.g., it wants details about my kid's college expenses, which take a while to gather, then says I don't qualify because of my income -- which it should have told me at the beginning. This is just a sampling of frustrating experiences; I could go on all day. They really need to beta test with actual filers.

Turbo Tax 2020 was Good.

It was a bit more complicated so I filed late past the May 2021 filing date due to multiple paper work missing, but finally after all my missing paper work was found, Turbo Tax 2020 CD worked good for me. My first tax efile got rejected so I had to fix that and sent a second efile and now awaiting for my first acceptance or 2nd rejection. wish me luck.
