I wouldn't have used Turbo Tax for 8 years if it wasn't the most secure, easiest, and accurate method available!

Great software! We run the business software on a virtual PC on the Mac. Very few issues, none related to TurboTax.

E-file feature is broken

e-file feature is broken. Followed the instructions to the letter, but e-file kept being rejected saying 2019 AGI was incorrect but it was not. Had to mail in my return. Will be using a different tax software in the future.

TurboTax couldn't recover
on May 14, 2021

My TurboTax download for 2019 failed and I had to do it online. It was all straightened out later by your Customer Service (at greater expense to me :( .) This Year I had no problem getting TurboTax 2020 software as I had in all the previous years. Problem 1. I couldn't just transfer information from 2019. Not so bad, more time. Problem 2. I couldn't electronically file. - Three (3) rejections? The AGI for 2019 was correct? The PINs for my Wife and Myself I don't ever recall having to fill out ourselves with our own selected five digits? I seem to recall they were always filled in automatically in prior tax years as if you had a record stored of them!?! If that or another was the reason for the electronic submission failure I would like to know with more clarification? I do not wish to repeat this failure next year with your software, rely on USPS Mail delays, and other inconveniences. Thank you for your concern...

Wonderful Idea, Convenient, a bit buggy
on May 14, 2021

I've done my own taxes for over 50 years. I can't recommend TurboTax for anybody who does not already know how to do their taxes on paper. For those people, however, it is a great tool. Have used TurboTax for at least a decade. It clearly saves a great amount of time reading regulations, fillng out worksheets, etc., However, it has been rather buggy in the last few years. When going "back" and then forward, it often fails to return you to the place from which you started back. One year I told it I had a farm and it had me fill out Schedule C. WRONG. I should have filled out Schedule F. That error rippled through all subsequent years. This year, it asked if I still had a farm. "YES" was the answer. It said we'd talk about that later...and it still didn't have me fill out Schedule F. Indeed, I had to go back myself, using the "FORMS" method, to select it and complete it. If I hadn't known to do that, my return would have been grossly in error. Lastly, after submitting the return this year via efile, TT informed me I had to submit a printed form 8949 because I didn't fill it out as part of my return. Since this was AFTER efiling, I didn't have the option to modify my return and then efile so I don't have to file a paper form. That is nothing short of stupid. All of my earlier returns are on the computer right where TurboTax put them and it didn't look back to see if I needed to file this form.

Almost missed long term care premium deduction
on May 14, 2021

The tool seems to be OK, a little bit confusing on HSA. But there is no direct prompt to type in long team care premium. In my state, it is deductible for state tax. I have to search to find out how to enter that. The search result is not straightforward, it took me a while to finally figure out at federal level to enter.
