As always, a good tax experience that only TurboTax can provide.
I filed a prior-year (2019) return using downloaded TT software purchased from Intuit directly. Only improvements I can see have to do solely with UI and all are at the end of the process: Figuring out printing is dicey in that no PDF choice was provided (printers only - I wanted to save the file instead and print at another off-site printer). The first window only gave physical printer choices, and only after the next screen does it let me know that PDF file was an option. One should know that the PDF file was an option at the very first and a cue (that TT is famous for) such as - "You will have a chance to save to file in the next step" or similar.
Additionally, I'm trying to find out where to mail my Federal return. Shouldn't there be instructions for that in the PDF? What might give here?
In the instructions, it is mentioned that the return can still be filed electronically. Did you mean State only? Should be made crystal-clear. (Remember I'm filing prior year working off of a prior-year TT program, not online, as I missed the October 15th e-filing deadline.) Additionally, Federal e-filing was known not to be an option, yet I was given e-file buttons in subsequent windows after I was told "no e-filing available anymore". (Software should read system date and cue the user or at least not provide, after October 15th, e-file buttons by an if-then loop.) Also, is it that e-filing is not possible (after Oct 15th) but electronic (direct deposit) money transfer *is*? This should be made crystal clear for dummies like me. I know others might have been at least slightly (if not significantly) confused about this.
Anyhow, good job making a great product. ~p
