TurboTax should provide program update details

TurboTax provides program updates which implement tax law changes and fix bugs. When a program update increases your tax owed amount, you might be curious to know what caused the change. Was the bug in the previous version or now in the new version? Unfortunately, TT doesn't provide details to what was changed so depending on how complicated your return is, a manual review of every input is needed. This is time consuming and could be avoided if TT would just tell us what part of the program was updated. With all the late changes by congress this year, this was painful for me. However, otherwise TT did a great job!

TurboTax did the job

We have a basic tax return and TurboTax did the job for us as far as we can tell since we are not familiar with tax laws and trust that the software will get it all right. There were parts that were confusing and that we just hope was okay. The main frustration came at the end when there was some kind of glitch with my account so it kept rejecting payment for the state e-Filing. After 3 phone calls totaling 3 hours with 3 very nice and courteous representatives, the matter was worked out and I was also given a discount on the filing because of the issue.

Needs to work on older OS's

The program works well but they need to have it compatible with an older OS. I will need to buy a computer to use the software next year. Cheaper to go to a tax office at that point.

Worked Well

The product seems to be quite thorough. It is a God-send as I would have absolutely no idea how to proceed without it. The sections are clear and you do have the option to go through it and decide how you want to proceed. I rely on the software to make sure that I do not forget anything. The check feature works well in finding things that require attention. I would be pleased to register my product, however, in order to do this you must have a US address.

Turbo Tax is AllRight

My experience with turbo was 2'nd time around. I got a little bit mixed up on a couple of things, but muddled my way through. Next year maybe I will do better -- providing I remember.
